Can't change Channels in SiriusXM

Thanks to this forum, and in particular this topic thread, for keeping me from losing my mind. I got in my MME on Saturday and had this SXM issue. I was on the verge of looking up Ford Support and sending them a scathing email about how bad the software in their car is. But before I did, I checked the forum and found that I was experiencing the same issue as others. It also led me to check and find out that I (finally) have the 1.7.1 update!

SiriusXM was totally broken for me on Saturday. I'd only had the car a week, and had gotten an email from them that morning about cancelling the service in my old car that I had sold to CarMax. Also, a message popped up twice about agreeing to the service, although I had already done that when I first got the car. I thought that they cancelled my 3 month trial on the MME as well. First road trip (70 miles round trip), so we listened to Pandora on Android Auto instead. Found out in the afternoon that everyone was having problems.

Worked fine for me yesterday.

@Chapschaps can you please rename the thread so "channel" is spelled correctly. I don't think SXM is in the perfume business. It's setting my OCD off every time I scroll through the list of threads. Pleaseeeee.

I tried changing Chanel’s but ended up in a Gucci

Artist alerts worked for my drive to the office this morning for the first time ever. Literally the very first time this has ever worked in the MME. If that is part of 1.7.1 then it took about a week to begin working. Either way, I am glad it works finally.

I've been using TuneStart and it has been working fine in that when I switch stations the song always starts at the beginning. I've never had the song restart automatically though? I drive under an overpass at least twice a day. It's a two part overpass (Northbound and Southbound highway overpass lanes....). Ever since I have had satellite, it would always drop signal when I would pass under those bridges. Would happen twice since there are two bridges with a small space in between. It did this since in my F250 for 15 years, in my Focus Electric for 2 years and my MME for 8 1/2 months.

Today is the first time the song restarted when driving under that overpass.
I assumed this was the same for everyone else here but of of course I would have the oddball car that doesn't follow the rules.

I drove under that same bridge 3 times today and the song did not restart. Must have been a coincidence when it happened that one time this morning

Alerts do work still.
And, Sync now boots stupid fast. It is ready to go in about as much time as it takes me to put on my seat belt.

Mine hasn’t been working the last few days either. Can’t change the channel. My screen looks like this

Did you go to channel 1 and have it send a refresh? Do a Sync soft reset as well if you haven't.

Guess it’s good the SXM app works in CarPlay still

Does XM via carplay work via wifi/internet? I don't have good service where I am and am also concerned over data consumption. Thx

It works through whatever Internet connection your phone is using. That could be WiFi or cellular.
