Assuming you bought one of the early builds where the Comfort/Tech package was $2600 instead of $3200, when you did your purchase, you likely signed a separate Ford document about this and the $100 discount. Would have said something along the lines of: "Blue Cruise is not yet active. When it is you'll have to pay $600. Coming out Q3 2020. Here's $100 off your car purchase."

If you bought a Premium that included BlueCruise, I believe you DO get 3 years free when it comes out OTA and then have to pay whatever fee they end up deciding on.
Yes, I did buy a Premium and that is why I thought I got the 3 years Blue Cruise. It is all very confusing and the rules seem to change quite often.

When did you buy it? If it was before BlueCruise was available, you should have signed a paper acknowledging that you would have to pay separately when available (and received a $100 discount on the car for the acknowledgment).

If I were to guess, I would say it’s a combo of OTA not ready and they would rather OTA than pay the dealers to install.

If everyone goes to the dealer, it would cost Ford $, so they would likely rather get OTA ready.

Just a guess though.
Perhaps. If that is the case then Ford just needs to bite the bullet for those early owners. Oh wait......so now we know why Ford offered us that $100. They obviously knew back then that BC wasn't going to be released on time.

Don't we all have to go to the dealer anyway for the glass recalls....

I get that there are certain uncertainties that come with being an early adopter, but that doesn’t mean one should roll over when the company doesn’t deliver you something you paid for, but delivers it to others. Working out the bugs in BlueCruise? Yes, I’m fine waiting. But that’s not the situation. They are giving it to some but not the early adopters to whom it was promised. They should prorate the price.
I totally get it, and believe me I’m not rolling over. I just understand that it’s taking them longer than expected. I’m sure people would be more upset if they rolled out an update that caused issues to our cars. I mean look at the trouble rolling out 1.7.1. Clearly the OTAs are not working as expected.

I don’t know why they haven’t enabled it as a dealer update. All I can think of is they didn’t want to divert the resources to make that happen, but they are now.

For me, I’m still in love with my car and I'm willing to wait. I would however like my frunk button by the end of the year as promised. All that being said, if I don’t have Blue Cruise by March I will be pissed.

It’s billed by hours of work. Presumably the BC update would be several billable hours x thousands of cars.

I’d hazard a guess that BlueCruise is going to miss the Q1 2022 target as well. 1.7.1 isn’t rolling out terribly well apparently, I can’t imagine BC will miraculously be ok to push over the air.

I’m not getting it in any event anyway, not much more than idle curiosity on my part.

My sales guy told me it was free when I bought my car. Then later emailed me and said it was not free, his mistake. I saved the email. To me that is false advertising.
Sales people often say a lot of things that are false. That’s why Ford had early adopters sign a paper acknowledging that it would not be free.

Not all mistakes are fraud. Some are just mistakes. Yes, you could probably kick up a dust storm over it, and maybe get some relief. Or you could say "thanks for letting me know and owning your error."

Ford has been really good as far as concerned. I didn't know at the time, but because if the huge delay between order and delivery they gave me $1k off the car. I had some issues with the door unlock not working, I got a letter expressing regret with a $250 prepaid visa card in it.

The dealership did pretty well, but not perfect. The found a county BEV program that took $1.5k off the total, with them doing the form at purchase, my price dropping, and the rebate going straight to them. But they had no clue about the free Electrify America DC Fast Charging credit, not it's increase from 250kWh to 500kWh. I took in the print out of Ford's own website and had to figure out how to set it up myself. This is at Towne Ford in Redwood City CA.

The service there has been less than perfect too. Towne doesn't really support appointment booking through the app. But one of the service techs wants it to be a good experience, and gave me her cell phone number yelling me to just text her if I need anything and she'll get me in fast and personally make sure I'm taken care of.

If it were me in your shoes, I'd thank them for owning the mistake and letting me know so quickly. We all screw up, that's only human. It's what we do after that determines how we should be graded.

Indeed but they are already including that 21P22 customer sat program in with the glass recall so they could easily create a Blue Cruise customer sat program and also include it.

Given the number of modules 21P22 touches its probably a longer job for that then installing Blue Cruise.

Bought our May production cancelled order on 7/2. Was not presented with any piece of paper regarding BlueCruise. Do not have it.

Ordered on 5/29, which now is scheduled to be produced the week of 1/10/22. Expecting that vehicle to come with BlueCruise as it was listed on the invoice back in May.

If our ordered vehicle is actually produced the week of 1/10, and delivered in February, I expect to not activate BlueCruise on the 2021, take the 2022 if it's perfect, and then sell the 2021 without BlueCruise and let someone else pay the $600.

His discussions are not advertising.

You can read the car's window sticker before purchase. If it says "BlueCruise", then it's on the vehicle, and not free, because the vehicle was $600 more. If it doesn't say "BlueCruise", then it wasn't on the vehicle.

Did you get the $100 credit?
We got a $100 rebate (which was applied to the order), yes. It was for "2021 Assist Special Package Bonus Customer Cash".
