Turned it off and back on again. Tried with fob in pocket instead of phone. Tried both fobs. Won't work.

Ideas?

Assuming you tried sweeping the foot side to side as well. Not just a forward kick motion.

I sweep to open on mine. Like I’m kicking a ball to the side out from under the bumper.

Assuming that the button on the tailgate still opens the hatch.

It’s possible they dialed back the sensitivity so make sure you’re kicking right under the reverse light and it’s a symmetrical in/out motion rather than waving your foot under it. Pretend you’re a robot with a fixed ankle.

Sensor is looking at distance so side to side won’t register as high a magnitude signal as in/out.

Yes, we know how to use it. Tried all our standard moves. Button on tailgate opens it.

Connected Car Scanner to look for codes. Found B1495(55) on the BCM. Decklid Punch-Out Sensor Circuit Failure. No idea what to do. Clear it?

Yes, did they not clear the codes after updating? Always clear the codes after updating and double check if any come back.

I cleared it (at least I think I did), and then tried the kick and it didn't work. Reran Car Scanner, and it now throws that code, and P0CF7(66), which seems to be "is vehicle plugged in". Vehicle was plugged in, but charger won't charge it until 7PM tonight. I overrode that, unplugged and plugged it back in, and it started charging. Stopped it, let it wait till 7PM.

I'm going to let it charge tonight, and see what's what tomorrow. I have little experience clearing codes, done it once on an ICE vehicle. I did seem to clear it, but it came back.

Sorry this is of no help to your current issue but I was looking into getting some kind of OBD scanner for both my upcoming MME and my current vehicle. Any recommendations for apps/adapters?

Wish I could offer you some help. I can say that after 21P22, my kick to open is still working the same as before. I have had the best luck with the straight kick and it seems to still be the same.

Hands Free Liftgate/Decklid Input Sensor:Not Configured

Google, says to go to Pinpoint Test P

That says module has not been programmed, or was programmed incorrectly. So they missed something today, i.e. reprogramming the input sensor?

Haven't had the update yet but my kick sensor works to open but has only worked about 5% of the time to close using PAAK. I haven't used the FOB since about the third day of ownership. Even took it to the dealer and they did one of the updates earlier this summer without success.

I had the update two days ago and kick to open has been working fine. I discovered a trick to it by accident when washing the car months ago. The sensor does not seem to be in the center. I think This is why folks have better luck with a sweeping motion. It has worked well for me once I started using a in/out kick lined up with the left edge of the license plate. Prior to that little revelation I had written off the ”feature” as worthless. May be unique to my car but could be worth a shot.

I don’t use PAAK, but ours works just fine as long as I have the FOB in my pocket! We had this feature on our Cmax but it works much better on the Mach-E.
5 and 1/2 months and 4600 miles in.
