So disappointed in this, I have a built day of Nov 1st and was expecting delivery this week. If BBB or a version of it passes before this gets resolved I won’t get the Tax credit ? Not sure if I’ll take delivery without the credit. Buying one off the lot is not an option, all the dealers around me are selling the GTs for over MSRP (which I refuse to pay). I know there are worse things to worry about and I’m happy to have a healthy family going into the holidays but still very disappointed that this happened so close to the finish line.
BBB is not going to happen for awhile (if at all - and if it does, not likely in its current form). Machin has come out as a firm NO, so it is DOA.

I am confused, if you take delivery this year you get the credit as per existing law, 7500. BBB if passed would been effective next year.

They can’t take delivery this year because of this recall. That’s the whole point of this thread.

I am waiting to see what happens first... the delivery of my mach-e.... or... a new user named "nybuyer" comes on and tells us how he wanted to buy a dozen mach-e's but canceled and was able to skip the 6 month estimated delivery time and bought 3 Tesla model y's immediately instead.

Right there with ya…. Such an incredible disappointment. I was looking forward to getting mine this week. Definitely a WTF moment.

Went in to be first pickup today at dealership. They won't sell us car since Ford announced a recall on all mach e from oct 3rd till now for a issue with rear seatbelts.

The dealership pretty much told us at best we can expect it Jan 3rd for a fix, so anyone who hasn't gotten car, has no chance of getting it this year.

So with that type of recall, only a few will actually be affected by the issue. Basically they have to be checked for the defect before they can be sold but, a majority of them will be fine.

How soon do you expect the dealer to have the information they need to inspect for the defect?

I actually got a call from a manager at the dealership to give me the bad news that my vehicle was on the recall list - but he stressed he was on top of it and will keep communication open - will get the car available as soon as they can. Still I guess no one will know anything more until January 3rd.

Says on the memo that they won't know what to do about it until January 3rd.

Why would you say you won't get a tax credit? My understanding is that if BBB does not pass, you still get the $7,500 in 2022 and if it passes in its current version, the credit stays at $7,500, you wont qualify for the full $12,500 as it is not built in US or by unionized factory. Am I missing something?

I think you are correct - can't expect the extra credit amount even if that law passed... the Mach E is built in Mexico...so would still be $7500. No change.

Lots of chatter of classification of MME. How it's a station wagon and not an SUV/Truck so max MSRP is 55k.

Or income limits.

Those will disqualify you from getting them in BBB as they were written in the house version of BBB.

I’m very interested in if my car is affected. While many in the 10/11 build week saw their delivery grind to a halt, mine made it to my CLT dealership by 12/8, and I completed the transaction on 12/10.

I wonder if they let some cars through that didn’t get a bad batch, or maybe I was just lucky.

It’s just my wife and I with no kids, so we’ll keep driving the car with no issues since the stop sale is rear seat related
