My build date 11/18, mache delivered 12/17 to dealer, today (12/20) I signed the papers work with partial cashier check payment and will make full payment by cash(cashiers check) on 12/23, dealer mentioned, he sent DMV info on the paper work done today electronically (I guess, title one, plates, tag), my question is will I able to claim fed tax incentive for this year ( I may get car with temporary number by 12/31) but actual DMV plates will come in January 2022
Thanks,

As long as you legally own it you are good. Doesn’t matter when you get plates temp or otherwise

Ford notified dealers of a needed seatbelt repair involving certain new Mach-E SUVs, triggering a hold on any undelivered new vehicles built from Oct. 5 to Nov. 18.
Ford spokesperson Said Deep confirmed Monday that 2,304 Mach-E vehicles are affected by the recall. Of that number, 741 are in customer hands and 1,563 are on hold by dealers, he said. The problem was due to supplier's seatbelt anchor bolt malfunction, and that Ford will produce a complete repair bulletin on the parts and fix for the dealer's to implement, in first week of Jan 2022. $21K fine for each vehicle if they let it go without repair.
Yes I am aware of that. My response was about those that own one of the 1563 already in customer hands. I’m really glad Ford is fixing it, but it is also likely not an accident waiting to happen either. I would definitely get it fixed as soon as dealers are able to though.

Sorry to hear, y’all. So far I’ve been lucky with a September build avoiding both recalls

Took delivery of my 21 Mach E Premium AWD extended battery last Thursday 12/16/21. Build date shows 10/14/21. Called dealership today to ask about my car. They checked my vin # in their system for recalls. No recalls for that vin#. Was told there was no way they could have sold me the car if there was a recall on it. Maybe only certain vin#’s?

This recall is in the "advance notice" stage, which means that it's coming. You won't find it in any recall databases yet.
Interesting. Guess time will tell. Loving the new Mach. ?

TO be honest, I don't think they were supposed to sell it to me. I just don't think they knew what they were doing.....and I was insistent on how upset I was that I payed for a uber/wasted my time/etc etc to come there and get my car and now they can't give it to me. I was purposely dramatic! I think that played into me getting a loaner for two plus weeks while I wait for the car as well
I think you’re correct - I just found out that I’m on the dreaded list and my dealer says they cannot sell to me until it’s fixed.

Gang - Just found out that (a) my E is on a truck from KC to MN, and (b) it is part of the recall to come. Should arrive in 1-2 days.

Re my earlier reply to Gonner54, I may have misheard my dealer say they can’t SELL it to me - maybe she said they can’t let me TAKE DELIVERY. I normally use these terms interchangeably but I’d like to get any thoughts that dealer-knowledgeable folks might have on this distinction before I go back to my dealer and beg them to sell me the car. And also arrange FordOption financing. And not let anyone sit in it. ?

FWIW, I have a great dealer but don’t know if that will help if Ford says no SALE. Thanks.

it is hard to know the exact date that the assembly of your vehicle actually began, but you can get an idea of the soonest it might have been by looking at your window sticker... in this area, example below from mine, 9/24/2021 seems to be when the build was queued.

Then using this page: https://shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking/status - you will see the date of the week when your vehicle assembly started shown as "In Production". (you can get the 4 digit order number from the Item # box on your window sticker)

Once its built they will show the date looks like my son's car just made it past the hold date.

This is the first recall that is somewhat mandatory correct? On one hand my car being in the showroom means that its not exposed to the elements, someone is basically babysitting it all day with sales people walking all over, but it also means that others could sit in it and potentially dent it. There is no way to know but if the recall fix is a real quick turn around (being it looks like the same bolts were on the Maverick this is not MME specific parts), not terrible. But, if this is some 3-4 week ridiculousness, they better put a car cover on it and but in long term storage haha.
