It seems that anytime the temperature slides below 40* I get a notice to plug in. I have my charger set to charge between 10:00pm and 6:00 am for low Kw costs. So does it do any good to plug into my charger when it is set not to charge?
(I use the Ford 48amp 240 v home charger)

also I normally precondition the car at 8:30 AM after the charger should be shut off, am I pulling off the battery or the charge cord?
(I use the Ford app to time the charges)

If you leave it plugged in, and the car decides it needs power to maintain the battery or such, it will charge outside the hours you specifiy. I set my intelligent charger to prevent this.

It’s not going to fully charge off hours, just supplement. I’d recommend not stopping this at the intelligent charger - it’s worth the extra few cents from the higher kWh charge

Only if you view the car trying to maintain its battery a nuisance. Even with CA electrical prices the energy used is negligible.

A time where it could be an issue is if the car wont be able to charge fully by the departure time. In that instance, it will charge outside of thetime window but only enough to be able to reach your limit at the time of departure.

Theres a bit more to it than that. Dumb chargers, just plug in. Smart chargers have MANY MORE advantages. You know that.

Can someone confirm if the car will pull limited power during "don't charge times" (as set in the car, not the charger) to run the HVB warmer and keep the system warm at below-freezing temperatures? I've been trying to observe it but haven't seen it yet.
