Oh, I agree with that….a simple indicator that shows energy flow in both directions (like virtually every EV other than the MME has) in lieu of the brake coach is all we really need!
I am absolutely not bothered by any of these issues. Sounds like you have an unhealthy obsession over information overload. I honestly couldn't care less how many miles/kws (or what have you) I'm getting.

The only question for Ford I have is... where is the rear trunk release button????
Is my only option to use the remote to do this? Aargh!!

Not exactly. I have used the instantaneous MPG meter in my ICE vehicles for years as a way to optimize fuel economy. I just think it would also be helpful in an EV. JMO….

My Explorer has a rear hatch button on the dash, my MME doesn’t. As long as the button on the hatch and kick works, I don’t feel inconvenienced.

The world would be truly boring if we all agreed on everything! ?

People who drive significant distances in a single day probably do care. I see your location is NYC. Perhaps your use case does not represent most.

Perhaps my case does.
EVs are not road trip vehicles. Not yet anyway. If you drive one daily to an extent that pushes the vehicle’s range to its limit, then an EV is probably the wrong choice for you. Range anxiety shouldn’t be a topic on your daily agenda. Unless you can fork over $150k for a Lucid Air with a 500+ mile range, EVs remain - at present - nothing more than errand cars. That’s what ours is.
If you’re stuffing your EV with kids and hoping to get 250 miles out of it, don’t be surprised if that DC fast charger at your next rest stop is out of order or just plain malfunctioning. I’m not saying it can’t be done. It’s just not feasible (yet).
Just my 2 cents.

The weather turned cool in early November. I was on my way to the airport on a 2 lane country road and everything fogged up. I had no idea where defogger was in the climate menu, so I just pushed buttons. :p
there is a hard button aside of headlamp switch/knob to defrost front windshield without having to touch screen not real obvious but its there

The thing that irritates me is the seat heater icon. Why not just press it once, twice or three times instead of a slider, especially with the bouncy suspension. Surely this would also mean less processing power for the system as there's no moving graphic involved. (Evey little helps in memory use and responsiveness if some lines of code can be deleted).
Yes! I'm with you 100 percent! That slider adjust thing is a real distraction - push, push, push the icon would be soooo much better. Surely Ford can change that with a software update? Are you listening Ford?

Probably safe to say most driver's experience of driving lies somewhere between an errand car and needing fast charging on the road. I personally use my MME as a daily driver and it's certainly not just an errand car in my use (we don't have a luxury of public transportation where I live.) I plug into my L2 charger at night and am back at 90% in the morning. I suspect most people on this board do a similar routine either at home or at their place of work.

I don't equate wanting to know where your battery is at as range anxiety; like cell phones and our ICE fuel gauges, some people are just interested to know. Manufacturers must agree too.

That's what I used. My sarcasm aside I was aware the button was there and was feeling for it. Early November, cool, humid and pre daylight. As the sun came up over Maunakea, the windows fogged up on a narrow two-lane road. I didn't want to wait for auto to kick in.

Sounds like you have an unhealthy obsession with opening the trunk.

That's the point of using the "auto" button on the screen. Presumably you set the temperature to something comfortable for you once, and then anytime in the future just tap the "auto" button on the screen to change how fast you want to warm (or cool) your car up/down.

In the winter so far I've gotten by with 66 F and 1 bar on the auto button. If that's too cold i can fiddle with the temperature slider, but usually it's fine.
I leave it in auto for a good portion of the time however there are plenty of times when I do not want any air blowing around in the cabin, if the auto button was programmed correctly it would be set up to cycle around to off but it doesn't so I need to faff around with the fan. Same with redirecting the air flow, sure it could have been even worse we could have ended up with the stupidity where even the vent controls on the screen but I can't quickly toggle cabin recirculation or redirect the air without first waiting for another screen to pop up.

As the hvac is always on the screen, I would have rather they ditched the volume control and instead used the space more effectively to have all the hvac controls present and then given them haptic feed back, for a far better end user experience.

Not sure if this has been answered yet, but

1) I agree the slider is absolutely annoying while trying to set during driving.

2) I believe this extra interface is there, rather than just tapping it like the "Auto" climate control is because there's an option to set the seat warms to auto in that interface.

3) I then discovered that rather than controlling with sliding, you can actually just tap the dots on the slider and it will set to the warm strength (1-3) based on that. MUCH better than strictly controlling with the slider.

I really enjoy the UI. I wish there was a little more info/customization available, but I understand why they did what they did. I think they wanted to keep it clean and simple without too much clutter.
Yes this! Why give me a dedicated ABS button and no dedicated lift gate button. I use the lift gate button WAY more than turning abs on and offf.
