Unfortunately for those of us in hot weather climates, it appears the Mach-E does zero battery conditioning in hot temperatures. Whether plugged or unplugged. I would love to sacrafice some range to protect the battery from high heat. Using the A/C at a moderate level is not an option when it is 120+ in the car. The battery will get even more damaged if I pass out due to heat exhaustion and wreck.

I thought that when being plugged the MME will try to cool the batteries if it gets too hot?

I think I have seen (or rather heard) mine cooling while parked and plugged but not sure if it was just after a drive

My garage is full of stuff so can't really park it there or in the shade and although it does not get as hot in FL as in AZ in summer it gets to the 90's easily

I believe the MME does cool down the battery when you are plugged in. That's why they recommend plugging in on hot days so the car can cool the batteries.

I don't think Ford does a great job of NOT confusing people.

I'm guessing potentially because it limits available Range when it's colder?

If it does, it is absolutely silent. I can hear no pumps or fans or anything. The only time it makes noise is if its plugged in AND actively charging or preconditioning due to a departure time.

Unless Job2 cars are different.

The curious part of this for both cold and hot weather is that statement about not charging the 12V. Reads like the car is always running the thermal management system.

Interesting that on Page 5 for the cold weather tips, they say Leave the vehicle plugged in, to top off the battery to 100%, whenever possible

But, we have been told in the owners manual to limit to 90%. Well, which is it?

Yup, that was my point in post #11.

That is because that section of the manual is about how you can get maximum range during cold weather. It makes sense that you would want to charge the battery to 100% when you need maximum range, but when maximum range isn't required you should fill to 90%.

I think the manual is accurate.

I love this.. they assume that people will keep these cars long term. Look I absolutely love my car, but in a few years when 500 mile range cars come out, why would I stick with the car I have now, the technology will have changed so much. Why bother?
Urban dwellers rely on DCFC because we can't exactly plug in to my apartment Using DCFC is more common than they would like to think.
