Has anyone else had trouble charging at EVGo DCFC stations? I consistently get a charging fault and noticed on Plugshare the two stations have worked fine for all cars EXCEPT for MME. I have tried numerous times using my credit card (not their RFID card, but I don't think its the payment format that's the issue).

Are you having trouble with Efacec chargers? (They tend to look like this: https://electricmobility.efacec.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/qc20-charger-1.png) If so, have you had any updates done by your dealer? A fix for Efacec incompatibility came out late last summer, and I believe it was a dealer-only installation. The 21P22 CSP would also have fixed this issue.

I've used 2 different EVGo stations in the Northern VA area. I used Plug & Charge through the FordPass app effortlessly.

Typically, I've seen these in banks of 4 and 6 around our area. Each EVSE is labeled with a nameplate, which you can see above the gray-bezeled screen area. Open the FordPass app, go to the Plug & Charge section, find the station on the list, and then match the EVSE name at your parked location to the app. Activate from the app and you're good to go.

Charging stations I've used look like this:

That's definitely the newer ABB charger. Lucky you! Also didn't know PnC worked with EVgo.

Neither did I. Before I paid at the station, I thought to open the FP app and give it a try.

Oh, I don't think that falls under the definition of plug and charge. PnC is when you plug it in and it starts charging and billing you without any other intervention. What you used was just the BlueOval charging network thing - which nice to have as well, for sure.

Yes - that. Thanks for the correction.

Plug & Charge did NOT work. We had to authorize through the BlueOval Network.

Hmm, I haven't heard about this fix at all. I've read on other forums that the "Fat Boy" chargers are incompatible with MME and they were working on getting it fixed, didn't realize one had rolled out didn't see any notes about it.

Yeah, I don't think it was widely publicized. I tested this personally because the two closest DCFCs to me (which is important because I don't have at-home charging) are 50kW Efacec chargers. I flashed the OBCC update in summer and it worked immediately after. The OBCC was again updated with 21P22 with the 80% faster charging, so I figure updating to 21P22 will include this fix.

Cool, hope that rolls out OTA for other builds.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that's a Delta charger. We don't have Delta chargers here in IL, so I haven't tested that with the MME. However, if you haven't brought you car to a dealer for 21P22, I'd suggest doing that to get the latest OBCC code.

EV Go went ahead and fixed the charging problem in San Diego, by only having 50 kW service, and yet charging $4.95 simply to interconnect, and per kW rates that are 50% higher than any other charger in town...hence, their utilization is next to nothing.

I'm wondering why Ford is the one to have to update their vehicle than EVGo has to update their chargers? What's so different about the MME charging?
