That’s the crazy part. I guess being a life long Mustang owner, I would think this would upset more owners. I guess having the “almost as fast as a Tesla” is okay for most. Just embarrassed that Ford couldn’t do what a start up did.
Nineteen years after Tesla's 2003 founding, I think we can safely stop calling it a 'startup'.

To answer the question in the title of this thread: yes, I'd buy it again.
NOTE: I have the GT Regular Edition, so I can't speak to the PE, but what the heck.

I bought in October, so I knew about all the major issues, and went in with my eyes open. I enjoy the car a lot, and it's been reliable, more than I expected for a new electric model from Ford.

I got an internet quote from one of those car-buying services, just for fun. I could sell the car today for a few thousand dollars more than it cost me, including sales tax, tax credits, rebates, etc.

I have a GT.
Yes I would buy again and again!
Love it!
The 5 second limit hasn't been an issue in real world diving, and I'll never need to come anywhere close to it's top speed.
I have a awesome fast car that's not a Tesla, that's fantastic!
Most the Tesla's around here are driven by soccer mom's and various other people who don't know what performance is, so...
It'll beat most ICE at a red light, and that's real world. You can only do so much and still be safe.

Fair enough. Doesn’t change the fact that we’re still looking at Teslas rear bumper.
To be fair, EVERYONE is looking at Teslas rear bumper. That includes Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, etc.

I don’t really care what Tesla does, I just want my Ford to perform how I expect it to and know it’s capable of.

I think this is more an appeal to Ford. If you don’t care, fine, don’t care, but don’t negate other owners that do care or think it’s bullshit & just tell us all to sell our cars or go pound sand. THIS AIN’T TESLA & if you’re an apologist or fanboy, don’t take it personally if other people have LEGIT complaints.
The OP is asking other owners if they would buy again, so why get upset if they say yes?

I do care about the 5 second limit, I hope that they improve this in the future but I would also buy again given the option right now, for me it checked all the marks and I prefer it for several reasons over Model Y (Looks, Quality, Tax incentive)

There will be many more options in the market coming soon or that already in production (EV6 GT, iX, Fisker) etc, but right now I think its one of the best EV's out there at its price point

@Ford Motor Company needs to say whether or not they plan to fix it. Some people are fine it and that’s cool but others are trying to decide what to do. I don’t plan to go to a track with a MME GT but I want to know if i’m going 75 mph on a highway that I can hit the accelerator that I can feel enough power to pass cars I want to pass. The idea that a non performance car can accelerate faster on the highway makes it hard to justify the $70k for a GTPE . Not saying Ford has to fix it but people are trying to decide on whether to buy or even whether to keep a MME GT and deserve to know if Ford plans to do anything about fixing it…

Well I don't think Ford will ever say this needs to be "fixed" even if they ever decide to "improve" on the 5 second limit, which honestly may never happen with existing cars. We can always hope

If you're really just concerned with the passing power, you should not be, it has enough power to pass a car going <90 just fine, I actually measured this and gave a comparison to my previous SUV (Jaguar F-Pace 35T =340 hp) on another post

My GT (regular not PE) takes 3.76s to go from cruising @ 70 to 90 which is more than enough to pass in the highway and better performance than the Jag.

Now if your interested on beating that Model Y performance or any decent HP ICE >80 MPH then you will be disappointed with the 5 second limit, in that case go for the Model Y performance or wait to see if any of the new EV SUV coming out will be better, maybe the EV6 GT or a BMW iX M60 if you can afford it when they come out, but those EV are not available now and almost all EV will suffer at higher speeds compared to an ICE car.

Yes, you’re right, I guess comparing it to a Tesla isn’t fair.

At this present time I would probably still get the GTPE. That's only because I don't think there's another car quite like it right now. Everyone is free to disagree with that, but there's some EVs, like Tesla, that I just refuse to purchase. I however doubt that I'll still have it in 2 years.

I don't really care about the 5 second limit although yes I wish it wasn't there. I consider most of the complaints here to be minor in nature, but I agree that the lies and deception about what we would get is the biggest disappointment. Being that the car was new to market, there wasn't any way to really know, and that's why there's so many forum members second guessing it now.

I guess it comes down to this for me. In my opinion I didn't get 70k in car for 70k in cash. I feel like the interior is that of a 20k car with an iPad slapped in the middle. I'm also disappointed in the range decrease vs my previous EV which was not nearly as bad in the cold.

Not saying that at all. Just saying that you’re complaining it isn’t faster than the fastest cars on the road.

Tesla has the fastest production cars on the planet (plaid). There can only be one number one.

The way you complained it wasn’t “faster than a Tesla” made it sound like that’s a low bar to attain. Teslas are stupid fast.
