Removing the front license plate? And other debadging.

Hi all. Has anyone here removed the front license plate holder? I'm in a state that doesn't require a front and I want to remove since the front of the car is so beautiful. Also the dealer put a lame badge on the back that has the dealership name. Any experience removing this too? I've heard as simple as floss to as complicated as heat applicators, etc.. Thanks all.

They sell plugs to fill in the front license plate holes, same paint color. It may be fastened with rivets, you need to look.

Badges are commonly removed with dental floss and then Goo-Gone or WD-40.

I'm in the same boat - in Florida - but found a solution -bumperplugs.com - have all the ford colors - expensive - but looks like the best solution - the come in pairs - so for the mach e one has to order two pairs - good luck - oh yeah, there is a video on utube on how to drill out the rivets holding the license plate bracket in place - very carefully!!!!

For the dealer badge, I made them take it off. Otherwise I said they'd have to pay me a monthly $100 advertising fee. They took it around back and had it gone in 5 minutes.

As others have said debadging is easy with some floss, unwaxed. Best done on a warm day to loosen up the adhesive. If its proving slightly difficult a hair dryer or heat gun for a few seconds should do the trick.

Yes, there are a couple of existing threads with that answer. You can get them paint-matched to your car.

I just searched for bumper plugs on Amazon and ordered some from there. I didn’t even bother painting them. It looks a lot better than the license plate. I also had to use a drill bit to make the hole flat so they sit flush.

I like your style. I told them in advance I would not accept a car with their badge applied; I would accept a license plate frame with their name, which I promptly swapped.

The dealer installs it during the PDI. If you do not want it installed make sure they know that before the car comes in.

After and before - drilled our rubber rivets - added paint matched plugs from bumper plugs.com. Easy -looks good.

Picked up the car, then inspected it. (this is the part that most people miss. I think they just believe the dealer will give it to them perfectly. They won't.)

I noticed the inside had some dirt smudges probably from people taking the car on test drives. Told them to tidy that up. Saw the dealer badge on the back and asked them to take it off. They did both without question.

I'd recommend taking the car back to the dealer and asking them to take the badge they put off. Shouldn't be a problem and I doubt you are the first person to ask this.
