New Power Up OTA 2.4.1 Now Available

All cars have had it when PAAK is connected. This update makes the Horn/Lights work when bluetooth isn't connected.

Mine has had Horn/Lights over the Internet for a long time. I tried it yesterday and confirmed it worked. I haven't received 2.4.1 yet.

Thank you for that. I was thinking my FE had it also, but couldn't remember for sure, so I didn't want to just say it with no real way to back it up. haha

My question is, what is the current version available to Job 1 MME's? There are a lot of versions getting thrown around on here and I am not sure which button to press on the service manager.

2) Can the updates be installed by the dealer (or FDRS)?

Yes, they are being released via FDRS at the same time they are publicly released on OTA. The caveat here is they're not labeled or organized in the same way as the OTA - they just show as a set of modules needing updates. So if you ask your dealer for PowerUp x.x.x they may not know what you're asking for. Instead ask them to run all of the module updates in FDRS.

The window/trunk/frunk buttons appear when you have paak set up. If you don't have paak set up you just get lock/unlock/start/horn.

That being said I've heard of VERY few cases where the rest of the buttons are missing even with paak

I hate to ask this again, but how in the heck does one tell what version of the software they are on? Can't find it anywhere. Sometimes the car has too many options for it's own good.

Oh and if anyone can give a literal step by step on how to set up PaaK, that'd be great. I have tried it multiple times and failed every time. It's frustrating that something that could be SUPER easy is such a pain in the butt.

Short answer you can't tell. But you can more or less figure it out based on what features your car has. Look at the "understating OTA updates" sticky thread. The first post should help you out

Excellent, thank you. I'm new here and not really sure where everything is posted up. I kind of have this dealer over a barrel so I'll just tell them to make sure every module is current.

THis is why they need to have a toggle enable/disable of PaaK while leaving it "configured". This way you get all those features but if you disable it in the app, when you walk by your car (or if you live in a really small urban house, your car can be unlocked while sstanding in your living room bc its so close to the driveway). Then you dont need to delete it to turn it off and if you find yourself without your fob you can easily go in the app and "enable" it.

Also why can we still not see the lock status of the car in the app?

If you have ios, disconnecting from the car in Control Center might work for you. It would approximate this feature while still leaving bluetooth on for other devices. However I think it resets/reconnects the next morning.

Much like others have tried, I too tried the horn and lights button despite not having this OTA yet. Worked for me, but I do believe i was in Bluetooth range

Unlike the others though, I just pressed the button again and it stopped.

But I'd never use this unless it was an emergency. First, it's too loud and annoying, second, I don't take my phone out normally so I'd be fumbling to get my phone out, unlocked, open Ford pass, then press and hold the button...

There’s supposed to be a fix pushed this month for people in your situation. If that doesn’t work, they will have to replace s module in all likelihood.

I have been patiently waiting. I do have great cellular coverage and wifi. I received updates before the 1.7.1 hang. So I know it worked. But I never had these buttons. As I said I never used PAAK and way back when, it appeared in order to get the window button it only showed up if you enabled PAAK. Sounds like others have had it without PAAK.

As I understood it, the windows buttons are a PAAK thing, the horn and lights button supposedly aren’t.

Still , we’re left with the question as to what this actually update does.

I would love to see their development OTA highway:

2.5.6 Windows able to go up and down
2.4.2 GOM now shows more range (not real range but makes you feel better)
7.2.1 Set departure temperature
