I swear I've probably contacted every dealer within 200 miles and they all mark up. I have one ordered I just would really love one asap, and if there is absolutely a markup, what is the lowest markup possible?

I wasn't able to find one in any of the states I checked when I bought mine. It pissed me off until we got to how much they were willing to offer me for my trade. I more than made up the bump over MSRP there compared to the last time (~1.5 years ago) I had my old car valued.

Out of curiosity how much over did you pay? Best I found was 7500 over which is ridiculous.

If you want one NOW, you will have to pay for that privilege. As it has been said on this forum many times, how badly do you want the car immediately and how much is that worth. If you want it badly enough, then the $5K or $10K is worth the cost. It sucks that dealers put on ADM but it is pure capitalism of supply and demand. The dealers get a wanted car and someone is willing to pay the price to walk on the lot and drive it off.

I found a dealer that does not put ADM, thanks to this forum. Caveat is that I ordered mine and waited. No ADM is worth the wait for me. Morgan Hill Ford (South of San Jose) is selling me my MME GT PE without ADM. They have a no ADM policy on their website. When I test drove the car, the sales guy confirmed it too. He said they do not put ADM on their cars on the lot too. However, I suspect that they do not get many GT's on their lot and I image if they do, they do not sit long. I hear Walnut Creek Ford does not do ADM, but do not quote me on that. MME forum is your friend.

If you think ADM is bad, look at the price of a USED GT!! They’ll make the ADM look cheap (when you figure in tax credits).

You’re gonna have a hard time finding a deal on one within 200 miles of LA for sure.

California has higher demand, higher income, and more tax credits for electric vehicles than the rest of the country. Not surprised cars in low inventory are more expensive there.

The "market adjustment" for my GTPE (or any Mach-E I could find anywhere close to here) was $5,000. The "market adjustment" for my trade was $7,500. So one could argue, and I like to tell myself this, that I paid $2,500 less that MSRP for the car :).

That's actually a very fair way of considering it.

And just think, if you waited you would have essentially gotten it for $7500 below MSRP.

As someone who purchased a GTPE in September of last year off a lot, I can tell you that everything in SoCal and Vegas has stupid ADM and they won't budge. Vegas was asking 40k ADM and most places in SoCal wanted 20k.

I ended up finding mine in Florida, no ADM, just had to pay for shipping to California which was about $800.

If you purchase out of state something to be aware of is that you will NOT qualify for the California state rebates. Since I don't qualify for them anyway it made no difference to me.

The dealer we had ordered from called and offered a GTPE that was turned down by
the original order. we were lucky, he remembered we had said give us a call if you have any new arrivals people don’t want. Northern Ca. 20 minutes from San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Ford. worth the drive. Great people, no mark up. 11 miles on the car. I saw a few in Napa on the lot, this week. Tuttle Ford is said to be good dealership too, in Tustin. I used to live in that area.
keep getting the word out. There’s a few good dealers out there. That was 3 months ago though.

did you try cars.com? You can check out prices there and get it I. writing. Good luck!

Absolutly. Its a pain amd you literally have to call EVERY dealership to find one

I started with Google maps and slowly scrolled across the US...what brought it home was Autotrader...call every ad without a shown markup - worked for US.

$79 southwest flight to TX, $49 hotel, and 1.100 straight shot to So Cal (lucked out as charging was free thay weekend)

Sewell Ford TX. They would have even done X Plan, but the financing person at Ford to assist was out until Monday...that was only weekend which worked worked our schedule.

Fantastic dealership, 10/10 would recommend

My car was worth more because of the shortage of automobiles. There's really no other way to explain why a car that was 1.5 years older, with 1.5 years more miles was worth what it was as a trade compared to what it was valued at 1.5 years ago. The dealer can add their markup for the same reason. When the car supply situation sorts its way out, the dealer might not be able to ask over SRP, but I suspect that no matter the general economic supply situation given the demand it's always going to be tough to negotiate on a GT PE.

I could have ordered one, but the SRP for the '22 is $2,000 more than the SRP for a '21, so there's that. And, we need to factor in things like 1) will the federal tax credit still apply when I get an ordered GT PE 2) what will my trade be worth in 28+ weeks. It's also worth keeping in mind that Ford has slowed down the production of Mach-Es, the 28+ weeks was their estimate before that.

There are a lot of unknowns here that don't make it as simple as "if you waited, you would have X..." It is possible that my wallet would have been better off, but it's also possible that I would have kicked myself for waiting. Oh, and let's not forget that not waiting means I get to drive the car now :).
