Hey everyone, I'm new here and just took delivery of a new 2021 Mach E. I've noticed that after I park and walk away from the car, the lights stay on for an extended amount of time. I can understand them remaining on for a minute or two but I think 5+ minutes is excessive and unnecessary. I haven't actually timed it but in actuality, it might be more like 7 minutes or longer. Is there anything I can do to reduce the amount of time these lights stay on after I leave the car?

Thanks for any help you can give me,

Steve

In settings, there should be a setting for how long the lights stay on, it is under "vehicle" I think.

I thought so too but I haven't been able to find such a setting.

Your Headlight switch lost its setting. IF you look at it, it probably won't have any lights on. Turn it and it will reset itself and you can move it back to automatic. That should get them back to turning off after whatever time you have set in the car.

When the switch does this, it defaults the lights to "ON" so they don't shut off until the car turns them off for battery saving.

This. It probably beeped at you when you exited the vehicle too.

The issue is your light switch. For unknown reasons it switches to “nothing.” (No lights are lit up on the switch).

Turn your switch back to auto and it’ll go back to normal.

You’ll know it does this when your door makes a dinging sound when it’s open.

are you staying within bluetooth range? mine does that when I park at home because of the absurd vertical bluetooth range.

Download the manual onto your computer. It’s a must unless you love trial & error.
I already knew it was there... the OP didn't. Funnily enough, since I'm at work and didn't want to go out to my car, I was checking the manual before the other poster put up the photos, so I could show the OP where it was located and it isn't even in the manual LOL.

Ah, that worked! Thanks so much for the help, I wouldn't have found it on my own. :)
