Share Thule Roof Rack install photos - followed the instructions, seems further to front of car than expected?

Looking for install pics of THULE EVO ROOF RACKS to compare notes.

Followed the instructions that came with kit but seems visually to be a lot closer to front of vehicle than I thought?

Followed the instructions of front bar 8. 1/4" inch from front windsheild peak (just above the Ford logo) but that front bar seems not level; tilted forwards slightly. Have you all left as-is or have you pushed it back a little further than the instructions say?

(I cheaped out and got the square cross bars for now...)

I don’t see why it wouldn’t be, but I’m not an engineer.

Thule website will tell you. I bought the rack system but it’s just sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. Lame, I know.

In the end I left them where they were and wound up being just right to allow the tail gate to open fully with one of those long ski cargo boxes attached.

Yeah looks like you went with yours a little further back. Was this different instructions I wonder (maybe I followed mine wrong, but I measure and checked 3 times!) or did you more like eye-ball the placement?

My plan was to run with the squares for now and maybe someone will gift me some wing bars for my birthday The receiver/clamps work for both.

I just installed my Thule roof rack yesterday and you have spacing correct, 8.5” away from the windshield and 28.5” between bars. Reason is need that distance between bars for a stable platform, and rear bar can’t go back much further due to the roof line sloping.
