Those of you that followed some of my threads, know that I’ve had a tough time with my unit and Ford has offered to buy it back. I received the offers today and now have to make the big decision. Option one is basically just a full refund of all money I put into it including aftermarket and extended warranty. Option two is for them to attempt to fix the car again and if so I keep it and they give me some cash back to offset the hassles. Option three is that I can trade it in for any brand new Ford that I’d like with full value on the trade as if it was brand new. This option allows me to also order a brand new 2022 GT. I love the car but hate the five second limitor. I put a large sum cash down and certainly wouldn’t mind having it back. And, I have a beautiful truck in my garage that I could drive. This is going to be tough. Honestly, I wish I wasn’t in the situation and the original unit just worked as I dreamed.

That is a really hard decision to make. Normally, I would pick the option of getting another one, but I assume that means a 28+ week or more wait for it to come in. I wonder if there is an option to keep your current one until the next one comes in (and maybe some compensation if repair delays continue). If so, I would probably go that route, but only because I love the car so much.

Only you can decide what is right for you. I am sorry you are even in the position to have to make this choice.

I don’t know your story, but I’d definitely buy another Mustang Mach E. Yep, I have a Job 1 with all that means and I’d still get another in a flash (as long as they gave me something to use while I waited ?)

If I order a new one or any new Ford, I get to keep and drive the current unit until the swap.

Being able to keep the one you have while waiting for a new one would tip the balance for me and I'd go with a new MME. If that wasn't on the table, I'd order a model Y.

I think this makes it a much easier decision. Not sure what issues you have experienced, but seems like a great time to take the cross-country trip you always wanted to before the 2022 arrives!

Thanks for sharing and getting our opinions on your situation.

Tough decision but a needed one to make my friend. The good thing is Ford is honoring the excellent service to keep you as a Customer. I have not read the horror stories from your threads but can imagine since your MME is/was probably the earlier version of a now improved build thus the issues.

Now the choice, if that was me and I really like the product, I would give it another shot, and who knows, you may get a Perfect GTPE without the 5-second limiter. I am biased with the GTPE bc mine has been shipped to arrive 4/8 - 4/14/22....
I was also on the fence about the 5-sec power burst...I know that will eventually go away with later model years (2023-2024)

You have nothing to lose because they are allowing you to keep this ride until the new one arrives....

Now having friends and family owning Teslas, it's a tough choice but I am ANTI Tesla besides the Model S Plaid power.....LOL

The last option is ordering a top-of-the-line Lightning and see how that goes????

Please keep us updated.....

Interesting choice. My only question is about your comment on the 5 sec limit. I realize it’s a sensitive topic and I’m not trying to open up a can of worms since I know this limit pisses off a lot of folks, but now that it’s all out in the open and no one is pulling the wool over your eyes does it matter? Would it have an impact on your driving?

I took the car out for a 105 mile solo all out thrill ride in the Colorado foothills and mountains this past weekend. It was amazing. Got her up to110 on one stretch. She performed near flawlessly when pushed. That said, on that day I ran up against the limiter twice. One concerned me as I was passing a car while climbing a steep hill and just as I got toward the front of the pass, the limiter kicked in. Now is that going to happen often? no. But do you know of another sports car that does that intentionally?

Oh well that’s easy then. Stall, wait for 2022 ordering to end and get a 2023 GTPE.

I thought about that. I wonder how long I’d have to stall for?

Hard to say, I think premium orders are ended.

I wonder if you could order a premium, switch to GTPE later then switch to a Shelby. ?
