This can not be a factory job!
It’s not a professional job!
Do you have pictures of the ends inside the door?

As far as I can see it disappears into the main body of the car in the direction of the HV battery and not the door. Who knows where it goes ?

So far I have confirmed sightings in three UK cars, and one in a US model as well.

I’m just pleased that it’s not only my car that has this. Still hard to believe that it’s been designed that way though.

You can't see the wires from that angle--you have to take the pictures from the front of the door.

After some investigating of my car I have conlcuded that the wires do not go into the door. They are only exposed for a short spot and then are behind a panel.

Here you can see on my car (still passenger side) but the wire is really buried in there:

The part that the wire goes behind is not the door.

Here is a picture from the other side (the "normal" side you'd see when opening the door):

You can't see it from this angle.

Yes, I'm in Michigan and there is salt everywhere....

Nothing on the passenger side but look what’s peeking out on the driver’s side

The other pictures do not appear to have the padding(?) that is in your pic. I wonder if the cable is supposed to be tucked behind the padding?

It looked like mine was just starting to slip out from under the padding. I tucked it back in after taking the picture.

I have the padding on both sides.

Yep, my wires are exposed as well. I think this is a design flaw.

I amend my answer. Since I’m crawling all over my cars today I looked. These wires are on my 12/20 build premium and my 12/21 build GTPE. But I have to move the sound deadening foam behind and below the door hinges to get a peek at them.
