Ford Mustang Mach E
My 2021 model year Ford mustang Mach-E is not able to charge using my Ford connected charging station docks for some reason.

For context originally I had the first one installed in December of 2021 and for some reason every time I would plug in my car to the dock it would say “plugged in not charging” Despite my ring lighting up blue and The docs software was set up properly with no errors displayed. I have called ford customer service and spoke to an agent who made an open case about this issue. It was after speaking to agent I was transferred over to Ford’s parts department which I spoke to a man named George and he told me that there was a chance that the connector cable might have been damaged therefore I will be receiving a replacement

Now we fast forward to me communicating with my dealer back-and-forth vigorously to receive my charging dock replacement as of Monday February 28th of 2022. Yesterday my electricians that I hired for the previous dock installation came over to install this second dock and to my great disappointment I was greeted with the same result from my FordPass app telling me that my car is yet again “plugged in not charging“.

My electricians checked to see if the dock was properly powered and from what they claimed it was along with checking to see if my circuit breaker was properly powering the dock. My circuit breaker is rated at 60 amps and the electricians told me that it should be able to charge the dock. I have immediately communicated with my dealer and Ford customer support telling me they will get into contact with me later on today hopefully but my patience is wearing thin and I am desperate to get this working. So I turned to you all. I'm at the Ford mustang Mach-E forms and if any of you have information that could help me out that would be appreciated.

Two questions I would like to know are as follows

-Does anyone here have any information on a certified OEM electrician that has successfully installed Ford mustang Mach-E connected charging station docks in the New York City metropolitan area in particular Staten Island? ( I am eager to get a second opinion because I now do not have the best confidence in the electricians that I hired )

-Does anyone have any information or advice that can help me troubleshoot this issue? ( I have already factory reset my charging docks and powered them on and off to no avail )

Thank you for your time and reading this post

Hey, Johnny Melons! I would like to look into this charging port issue you’re experiencing with your Mach-E. Could you please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer?

"Plugged in, not charging" doesn't mean there's an error condition.

I think you said the charge ring on the vehicle is blue? Blue is good.

If it is solid blue (not flashing or pulsing), it means it's plugged in and ready to charge but waiting for a scheduled charge time to occur, or waiting for the battery level to fall under the maximum charge that you've set. You set this up on the vehicle's Charge settings screen.

If it's pulsing blue, it's actively charging.

If it's white and steady, it means the EVSE (e.g. your connected charge station) is connected, but not permitting a charge. On Ford's Connected Charge Station, you will want to see what light pattern is showing in the EVSE itself.

Also verify that access control needs is turned off by going into the settings via FordPass.

The single blue LED in that screenshot above means the charge station is unlocked and ready, but not plugged into any vehicle.

If it's a solid blue bar, it's ready to charge and plugged in, but the vehicle doesn't want to charge.

If it's a slowly pulsing blue bar, then the connected vehicle is actively charging.

Definitely check access control. I reinstalled mine using the app to try to fix connectivity issues and after the reinstall, access control was turned on by default and I couldn’t charge.

To answer your question yes it is solid blue

i’ve done that and I’ve had access control off this whole time and I have disconnected and reconnected the dock with access control turn off I even powered it off and on again

as for my vehicle charge settings the only charge location I have set up is my home and it sets for me to charge my vehicle every time to 100% which is some thing that my car still not doing

I know it's bonkers, but please try this:

Change your home charge times to 3am until 2am, instead of 24 hours.

Does it work?

When I installed mine the dip switches were in the wrong position. The instructions are a little confusing and it is easy to get them wrong. That could be your problem and no charge is leaving your charger to your car. I can not remember were I saw the correct way to set them. (maybe Youtube) If I remember correctly what we think is on is off and vs versus. When i was doing research when mine didn't work I found the dip switch was made in Germany and it is backwards to what we think. You might have your electrician try this if your not comfortable

FYI you should only charge to 90% every day to preserve the battery. You should only charge to 100% right before you're going on a trip.

Does your car charge fine at other 240V L2 charging stations? Have you gotten 21P22 software updates done yet?

Also what is the line voltage in your location?
