Appreciate the conversation. I'm genuinely trying to figure this out so I'm prepared if I need to have this conversation with my dealer when I take delivery. Not quite true. They do have to submit proof that the original person who placed the order purchased the vehicle.
Assuming that the person who placed the order purchases the vehicle, isn't price protection automatic? Doesn't the dealer have to report the vehicle sold, regardless of whether or not it is eligible for price protection?
I'm not sure the dealer has to do anything extra to get the price protection money back from Ford based on:
C&I/Pricing Announcement: EFC09620 Ford brand Mid-Year Pricing Effective December 8 2021
Automatic price protection will be provided on:
• Firm 2022-model fleet, retail, and demonstrator orders signed and dated on or before December 7, 2021, and received by Ford Motor Company on or before December 11, 2021.
