Not quite true. They do have to submit proof that the original person who placed the order purchased the vehicle.
Appreciate the conversation. I'm genuinely trying to figure this out so I'm prepared if I need to have this conversation with my dealer when I take delivery.

Assuming that the person who placed the order purchases the vehicle, isn't price protection automatic? Doesn't the dealer have to report the vehicle sold, regardless of whether or not it is eligible for price protection?

I'm not sure the dealer has to do anything extra to get the price protection money back from Ford based on:

C&I/Pricing Announcement: EFC09620 Ford brand Mid-Year Pricing Effective December 8 2021

Automatic price protection will be provided on:

• Firm 2022-model fleet, retail, and demonstrator orders signed and dated on or before December 7, 2021, and received by Ford Motor Company on or before December 11, 2021.

I did send to the dealer and he said he has to see if ford will do it. Dealer said ford has the right to increase price because of supply do increase.
You know that is BS, of course. You're allegedly taking delivery on Monday? Tell them you want to have them send you what the car is going to cost before you come down.

Doesn't sound like you have a dealer who is inspiring trust and confidence, and I would be ready for a Mach-E-sized clown car of shenanigans when you show up, unfortunately.

Ford's new dealer policies for Model e cannot come soon enough. There's simply no other consumer product (even a larger-ticket item like a house) where the consumer doesn't know the price and is routinely taken advantage of.

I hope I'm wrong in the OP's situation -- keep us posted!

I will post right when I get home. Never wished that Monday would come sooner. ?. I am preparing myself for a fight if it doesn’t happen the better it is . It sad that after all these year as an veteran I has to prepare for a fight with a car dealership. I wish ford switches to the non sales system soon Because my wife needs a new car in 2 years. Thanks

Yes, totally understand that the name needing to match.

My question is, does the deliver have to do anything extra to receive the Sales Price Protection? Or is it automatic and they receive it within 45 days?

When I ordered my Mach they copied my ID and sent it with the order. When I purchase the car the credit to the dealer will be automatic as soon as Ford verifies I was the person who bought it. So automatic - yes - but have to complete the steps. For you the purchaser you do nothing - the dealer just sends in verification along with reporting the sale.

Ford check the sale against the Title or something like that. It is not just the dealer stating yes I sold it to Joe Buyer. After verification it is automatic. Bottom line is the dealer will get the credit no matter what as long as they file the proper paperwork. Just like the IRS - if you have a refund coming you still have to file your paperwork correctly!

It matters to me because I placed an order on October 2.
