The fix is not released yet, Taking the car to a dealer at this time will just result in lost time with your car.
A few forum readers in this situation are not necessarily bringing the cars in for a fix. They’re buttressing possible lemon law claims. And hoping for a fix.
Same experience here. I called the OTA team at Ford yesterday and all they could say was that they are aware and have no ETA on this fix. Very disappointing that it takes more than 3 months to come up with a fix, also , no communication, no dealer guidance, very bad customer experience overall.
5 months. The first post in this thread is 5 months old.

5 months is astonishing for a 'software' fix from a company that size, with zero communication. What are you doing @Ford Motor Company ????
And they are now on Power Up 2.5.1. We are getting left farther and farther behind. When (or if) there is a fix, I wonder if the update will go straight to that, or it will have to go through update by update?

Once your cars are able to update, Ford can literally push an update a day to you. It won’t take long to get to BC at that point.

They are trying to prevent us from “having“ to have an APIM module replaced so we can actually get updates?
They are trying to protect the bottom line. Plain and simple. Every APIM (or other module) they have to replace is one less they can put in a new car.

Typical corporate greed over customer. But hey Farley will get a nice 7+ figure bonus at year end.

The updates are build on each other.
Some in Germany got 1.6.0 and the other day 1.4.0

Not the same like windows updates where december update contains the updates before (november and so on...)

can someone explain why can't a dealer load / update this, similar to how other modules can/are updated when visiting? i can't understand the difference.

Because the fix hasn't been released by Ford yet. A dealer can't just make up software.

Last I heard the fix is in testing again, and hopes to be released in a few weeks starting with early access cars.

what i mean is, why can't the next version be loaded there? since new cars are coming with updated versions already.

They probably want to actually fix the problem the right way, and not take a risk that another update makes the issue worse. Which is also why they aren't authorizing hardware replacements. That could potentially introduce more issues.
