Glad you know your stuff...now, let's see, the Tire Rack info for the Signature Wheel SV104 20"x9.5" offset is shown WHERE, here? I must be mistaken, but Tire Rack doesn't seem to carry those wheels. Must be because they're CUSTOM, with no stock offsets or backspaces...they're built specifically for each individual car/tire/wheel/planned usage combo. And what gave you the idea that my wheels were from Tire Rack? How hard was that to look up?

With respect, some folks spend more time than others developing custom wheels with custom offsets and consider their work on getting that fitment right to be something they keep close to to the chest. It's not legally proprietary information but it's also not something they have to share.

If you were to purchase their wheels, I'm sure they'd be more than happy to share the offsets to get the fitment you're looking for, otherwise you're not entitled to that information.

I agree.

And after all that hard work to get the wheels to fit perfectly on your car, they publish the specifications for the wheels and what happens? Cheap people like me go to Tire Rack to find an equivalent with similar specs.

I would not share that info either.

???????...Signature's wheel tuning and expertise is their stock in trade...I'm going to respect that. And their wheels are 21-24 lbs. each, and FULLY forged from monoblocks, not flow-forged on the rims. It's not something that Tire Rack carries.

Just because Signature Tire thinks its proprietary doesn't mean it actually is.

But by all means, buy into it. ?

Tire Rack lists all the offsets for the wheels they sell. How hard was that to look up?

https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/res...+AWD&autoYear=2022&autoModClar=&package=false

For the record, I think Signature Tire is doing some good work, but they should be banking on their by-all-accounts excellent customer service and quality wheels, not fake proprietary info. There's no magic in offsets.
It’s so funny how people respect gran-gran for not sharing her home made biscuit recipe, but all of a sudden it’s a problem when translated into another aspect of life.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen someone go out and purchase wheels only to be let down by improper fitment, the inability to clear brake calipers, rubbing issues, wheel failures, poor service and the list goes on.

Curating a wheel fitment specific to your vehicle and your usage is a skill set that not many possess. Accounting for ride height, suspension compression, vehicle weight, tire selection, intended use and personal preferences are not what you find on every corner.

I say this not to knock anyone who buys wheels off the shelf, but you definitely get what you pay for. I can also guarantee the vast majority of people building wheels for these cars haven’t owned or tracked them like I have. Not to mention the custom lowering springs I’ve developed to work around our wheel fitments.

All of that research and development data goes into every build. Our fitments are proprietary because each of them is different, and I personally invest the 1:1 time with each enthusiast to spec the wheels THEY want.

We rely on our breadth of knowledge, quality engineering and dedication to the platform to carry us forward. Not smoke and mirrors. I have no plans to give out the end result of all our hard work freely. But look forward to working with those who can appreciate what we do.

I know nothing of these things and am asking from ignorance …

I have a 4X which has 19 inch wheels. Will fitting smaller wheels improve ride quality?
Is that the easiest fix in the absence of a proper after market solution.p to suspension ?

Have you tried reducing the air pressure in your tires? I would do that first. My guess is smaller wheels and bigger tires will smooth out the roughness but not reduce the bounce. It is similar to reducing the air pressure. I found it helps make the ride smoother but not less bouncy.

Try 34 psi all around.

Fitment Industries - I was about to buy from them before I found out one of my well known well regarded local tire shops was able to special order the tires and wheels I was looking at.

will try that. re Steeda, i got an update today that they have made no progress on a suspension solution. apparently they don't have cars to test on. i am not sure whether there will be an after market solution.

I'm getting mine from Variant Wheels. I've also purchased from Forgestar before.

I have a 2017 GolfR, waiting on MME Sel AWD. It came with 19" wheels and performance tires. I changed them to 18" with softer tires. I definitely noticed a difference. Smoother and quieter. Same great handling etc.

@markboris posted at some point that putting the GT springs on the back of the prem MME reduced bounciness.

Not putting words in Mark's mouth but he replaced the springs and shocks on all four corners and he said it drove like a GT. I have a GT, and it bounces. Not the same as the Premium, but it still does.

Is there anyone who set the front 265/45/20 and the rear 295/40/20?
Everyone saw the front 255/45/20 and the rear 295/45/20, but I can't see the person who set the front 265. Is there a problem?
