a simple example for a customer satisfaction solution here would be, for every body impacted, give 200KW charging on electrify america each month while waiting.
this total ignore and no communication from Ford is really sad in those days where they can push emails/notifications as much as they want. They might be working on a fix, but letting customers turn to rumors and forums is just bad bad bad. anyway, i'll stop ranting.

Just got a call from the service guy at my dealership. Anyone know how to look up SSM #50553?
I am told that this SSM addresses the issue, and that we can expect an OTA "soon" to correct it.
I am looking online now, but am not having a lot of success. Perhaps someone has a SSM source to share with us.

Stop Ranting????

I think it is time to really start ranting!!!!

Like maybe call the consumer advocate at all our local TV stations to let them know that our $55K+ cars are not working to spec and see if there is anything they can do about it?

You know how large corporations hate bad publicity.

SSM 50383 was the message that this would be corrected in Feb, 2022. My dealer gave me that one back in January.

SSM 50553 is a larger #, so in a logical world you would think it is a newer message. But in Ford land, who knows. Their OTA updates do not follow any rational numbering scheme....

Another thought: I don't think that some free charging is sufficient as compensation. I think that our bumper to bumper warranty should be extended an additional year from when the fix for this problem is installed on our Mach-E's! Think that might move this process along any faster????

See here. It just says that an update is coming in April 2022.

So SSM 50553 is a verbatim quote of SSM 50383, except that they pushed back the availability date to March from February and the "follow up if it still doesn't work" message to April from March!

How many times do they really think they can get by on this?????

this is where they need to get a serious infusion of fresh blood. seems like they think that if the car can be operated, the rest of the experience can be ignored.

$100 says their effort is focused on MY22s and MY23s, along with F150s.

Whatever intern they have working part time on supporting cars they already got money for isn’t ever going to fix this.

April will turn to August, and @Ford Motor Company is 110% banking on customers just giving up.

But I guess I should feel lucky, got 2 cars for the price of 1: my first and last Ford, ever.

iv given up on trying to get anything updated or working right. I’m now waiting on my car to be replaced with a new 22. I’ve had nothing but issue after issue with this car and we reached an agreement with Ford for them to replace it. I have no idea when because you can’t track it…but I’ll just keep driving this one and hopefully it won’t die again. Oh, and it’s become a complete rattle box since I had the recalls done. ??‍♀

I'm getting so frustrated with this BS and lack of support/acknowledgement from Ford.

Wonder if anyone at Ford EV really cares about customers and the products they make - cause we'd have seen some sort of response or updates from them if they really did... pathetic, no way are we upgrading our 2nd car to a Ford.

Definitely gonna recommend that my friends go electric but best to stay away from Ford as they don't really give a crap about what happens once they get the $$$ from your.

It is frustrating and I am not happy with Ford either right now. Their response to this problem is embarrassing at best. I expected so much more......

But on the other hand, what make or model would you recommend to your friends right now? Tesla sites are full of complaints about parts availability and service issues. Had a friend with an early Nissan Leaf when the batteries started to degrade early in ownership. Volvo Recharge had major initial problems with the Android Auto system. BMW, Porsche, Polestar, and Hyundai have also had battery problems. I had a 2017 Chevy Bolt on a 3 year lease that ended in Jan 2021. That was just before the battery fire issues. But I received a letter from Chevy in March saying that they recommended I park the car outside and never to charge it over 90%. Not a very reassuring message to send out. They didn't have a plan to repair those vehicles for months and they are still fixing affected cars.

I knew there might be problems in buying a first model, first year vehicle from Ford. And I was OK with that. I just expected they would fix any problems in a reasonable amount of time!!! And we are near the end of reasonable, IMHO.

I have been following EV’s for many years. I was really close to buying a Tesla but chose the Mach e. I remember Tesla having all kinds of software problems their first 2 years. Especially with the phone as a key. I’m frustrated too, but my car drives fine and love driving it. None of these issues have anything to do with its performance on my end. So if I have to wait a month or so more I’ll be fine.

agree with what you said just wish Ford would communicate better to their customers. they are really falling down on the customer service side.

As I suspected, dealer was not able to do anything. The plan right now is wait and see what Ford does in April.
@Ford Motor Company , any chance we can get official word on if/when this issue will be addressed?
I was soooo hoping you would come back with good news.
