No need to go over 60A since the MME can only pull 48A. Unless you want to use it with a future EV that may be capable of more.

I'm considering an upgrade to the 80A for my Lightning.

Short answer: Tesla does not play well with others. Their SuperCharger (DC Fast Charge) stations are not open to CCS-equipped cars -- yet. That may change. You can charge on most of their Level 2 (Destination) chargers with an adapter. That's what this thread is about.

I encourage you to use the search feature on the Forum to catch up on topics. That would include all about TeslaTap adapters and the potential for Tesla opening up their chargers. There are threads on both of those.

Thanks for the update! The only charger near my in-laws is a destination charger so I had been looking at these for a bit and just hadn't write talked myself into one. I'm glad I waited now!
