FYI the link to Dealers Ask Ford is at the very bottom of the FMCDealer pages if someone can't find it.

Sales Price Protection
Summary: Provides details of errors with automatic payment after the 45 day period.

Overview
Price protection guarantees the original price level, as long as it is reported sold to the original customer. Price protection covers the base price of the unit and will automatically be paid approximately 45 days after the unit is reported sold to the same customer for whom the unit was ordered.

Mismatched Names and Non-Payment
In the event that the price protection program does not automatically pay the dealership after the 45-day period, the Vehicle Order Processing Center can research the concern. Non-payment may be due to several reasons, including:
  • Vehicle ordered in the business name but sold to the business owner (or vice versa)
  • Vehicle ordered in wife’s name but reported sold in the husband’s name (or vice versa)
When a name mismatch occurs, please contact the Vehicle Order Processing Center to review. Be prepared to provide proper documentation for the order to prove the relationship between the name and sold-to-name. Acceptable documents can include:
  • Business card
  • Business license
  • Tax information / license
  • Copies of the sold-to-name driver’s license MUST reflect the same address as the ordering name. It must prove that both ordering name and sold- to-name reside in the same household.
Thanks for this. I ordered in my name but will want to title in a revocable trust that is in my name. I planned to take the trust document in anyway but I think I should be able to do this without affecting my price protection.

My 22 GT just arrived. After a little back and forth, the dealer will honor the original price. However, I am looking to do the Options financing for the $2500 rebate and the 1.4% interest rate with the GT.

They are claiming (which I do not believe is correct) that in order to honor the December order price, I must then use the December incentives and the Options interest rate was 2.7% at the time.

While I do not think that is correct and I should be able to use current incentives, I am pretty sure the Options interest rate for the GT hasn't changed since December anyway. Does anyone know of a way to look up (that can be documented) what the Options interest rate was back in December for the GT? Unfortunately, I didn't take a screenshot of the build screen back then.

I don't know why Ford made this so difficult? If we have price protection, don't silently increase the price on the order page to create uncertainty and abuse. Just keep it at the protected price. I was fortunate to notice the sneaky price change on mine so was able to address it with the dealer right away.
The reason for this is the window sticker lives with the car, not with the potential buyer. If you backed out of the purchase and the dealer took delivery of the car, they would now have a window sticker that is less than what the cost of the car is AND they would not get the price protection rebate back from Ford when the car sold.

Do dealers get price protection if they placed the order before the price went up? I'm wondering because I'm ordering a dealer stock that was ordered beforehand. I don't think I would get price protection since I'm not the original person that ordered, the dealer was.

For my converted 2022, I got the $2000 price protection, $750 Model Year rebate, and X-Plan.

You just have to be persistent, and put the excitement of the car finally arriving on the side.
Can you please elaborate on how you accomplished this rare achievement?

My dealer is ready to protect base price only not price increase in the extended range battery of 1000$ and 95$ increment in options saying the price protection is on base only. Albeit the customer service mentioned its on total price not just base which is what i think they quoted me from the above information in the thread. Since the thread mentions only base not anything about options or incentive.

I do not think so. The person who ordered has to be the person who purchased in order for price protection to kick in.

@hybrid2bev should be able to offer advice on this. I do not think the GT has ever been at more than 1.4% on the Options Financing Plan. ?‍♂?

You are correct. You get to choose either the incentives today or the incentive that were in place when you ordered, whichever is better. When the dealer locks the deal in SmartVincent they have the ability to select the incentive date to be either the order date or the sale date.

I haven't been tracking the rates either since I've had my car for a year now. But I think you're right that it's been 1.4% the whole time.

Just brainstorming here but their position does not make sense. I think the models that had a $2,000 increase came standard with the ER Battery. The model with a $1,000 had the SR and that is why there was an additional increase of $1,000 for the ER option. So if a GT has a full protection for the $2,000 increase then so should a model that had the ER as an option. The dealer does get credits for price protected items on all vehicles. They are automatic and from what I saw normally small in size. I also do not believe they ar passed on to the customer. I would double check with Ford if possible. My guess Is if they do not give you the PP on the battery they will still receive the $1,000 as a credit after the sale has been verified by Ford.

I guess I don't understand what is so challenging for customers. The actual dealer letter is posted here, and it includes who the dealer should contact if they have questions. Seems the biggest issue is the numerous people wondering what if this or what if that, not the actual price protection execution itself.
