New today! Apple released EV Maps Routing with iOS 15.4. Apple Maps EV Routing supports planning your long electric vehicle journeys via CarPlay in your Mustang Mach-E. Apple Maps will use your iPhone to read vehicle and battery data when connected to CarPlay and assist you on your journey by adding chargers into your trip as necessary.

This feature is available on all 2022 Model Year Mustang Mach-E and 2021 Model Year Mustang Mach-E with updated SYNC software. Learn more about the feature and confirm if you have the applicable SYNC software version here.
Just so you know the instructions from that support page that tell you how to check your software version need to be updated. There are 3 options to check the version and only one of them (how to check in your vehicle) are correct.

Has anyone noticed CarPlay giving a notification of low charge whenever you charge at 90% or above? Very peculiar bug that started after the 2.3 OTA- but assuming it's an Apple bug.
I was in the 80s today and getting notifications on my phone to find an EV charger due to low battery.

When do you plan on releasing the fix that was promised last month to us and keeps behind pushed?
There are at least two other threads dealing with that exact question. A fix is about to be tested on non Ford fleet cars in the immediate future. Check them out for details.

Thank you! I actually think Ford is the first one to actually get this feature working!

I'm fairly sure that car play is still an option in vehicles that run Android automotive
Yeah Honda Odyssey runs on Android and CarPlay works just fine

In case anyones wondering what this looks like I set it up tonight on my phone. I’m in the Boston area and I set NYC as my destination on CarPlay. I got a prompt to continue setup on my phone because I had to agree to a few things and allow the car and phone to talk. I went through the setup, there is part where you can opt in to sending data to improve EV routing, it is not required. Once it was connected my phone could see my cars SOC and what plug types it supported. The route it chose for me included 2 stops at EA stations. I didn’t see an option to change that, but I didn’t play with it much. Seems fairly straightforward, can’t wait to try it for real.

So This is a... weird and subtle distinction to make. Honda Vehicles for a few years have had an Android based system on their head units. But it is not Android Automotive. It's just a variation on the Android OS you'd find on a phone or tablet. Android Automotive, on the other hand, is a more tightly integrated system that has Google Maps and Google Assistant running natively, and integrated into the car's functions.

Basically Android on Hondas used to just be an OS, and nothing else. Android Automotive includes Google Services and car integration

That being said, I know that Honda was slated to switch from Android to Android Automotive on new models this year.. Has the Odyssey already made that switch?

Okay so I'm grumpy because I have FDRS and as of Sunday, there was no update for my Sync system, and my GTPE is on 21180_PRODUCT Revision: 176 ... meaning that 2021 GTPEs do not have the software even available currently at a dealer to enable this.

Great job, Ford!

True, so not grumpy for 5 seconds at a time. But how messed up is their OTA pipeline? I dunno, I'd put more people on fixing that first before I develop new features you cannot push out to cars, just sayin'

Yeah I hear ya, but I suspect they're different teams at different "companies."
