Guess what just popped up on my infotainment screen?

Guess I’ve got an update coming this evening… I scheduled them every week for 10pm Eastern plus enabled auto updates.
I will start to get excited once the 2.4.x updates are being pushed to non-EA owners.

That is very understandable. I bought my car over a year ago and was lucky enough to get an EA invite.

I went ahead and started the update now. Says it will take about 35 minutes, during which the car is inoperable. The car has not been connected to wifi these past several days so evidently it downloaded no problem OTA.

I found the onscreen messaging re giving me the option to update now, update at regularly scheduled time, or reschedule to be very clear for a change. Ford is getting better at this.

2.4.2 just landed for me!
I too received Ford Power Up 2.4.2 today. I have a Job 1 vehicle and am a Early Access Program participate. Instead of doing the update as scheduled for early tomorrow morning, I decided to select Update Now for the 35 minute update. I received notice of a successful update.

Now for the unexpected anomalies from the update. My One Pedal Driving (OPD) was deselected, my retracted exterior mirrors were extended and instead of charging as scheduled, it began charging to 100%. I did not notice any of these issues until I entered the vehicle several hours after the update. The first indication I had that things were not as they were previously is when I attempted to back out of the garage and without One Pedal Driving selected, it seemed to move rather rapidly rearward as one would expect with OPD deselected. I normally retract my exterior mirrors when entering the garage and extend them manually once outside since I have minimal clearance. Fortunately my scheduled charging settings and location were still being retained in memory so I merely had to re-select charging per schedule.

I notified Ford Customer Service at the 800 number listed in the email and they took my report. As far as they knew this was not normal nor had anyone else reported these anomalies as a result of activating Ford Power Up 2.4.2. They were going to research it and get back to me but I'm not holding my breath. Anyway, I thought you might like to know of this experience.

On 2.4.1, EA Job1 and 2.4.2 failed for me today. Actually notified me in the app.

Had automatic installed, as well as scheduling it daily for work when it wouldn't be used for hours and has great cell reception.

Good to know at least 2.4.2 is in the chamber, and the app notified me, first failed update... that I know of.

I received 2.4.2 a couple of days ago and yes my Vehicle charged 100% right after that - I believe the charger location settings are impacted and hence the the car charged to 100%. I noticed it and went into the vehicle settings (not FP on phone) and selected the location again and all is fine after that. Did not experience the other issues.

2.4.2 installed for me outside of scheduled update hours. Then I got notified that it failed the install even though the install succeeded. The brake pedal definitely felt a lot better

I went into the FordPass app after the update applied and checked the charge settings (before my next scheduled charge window) because I had previously experienced charge setting amnesia with prior updates.. I found the settings were all still mostly there and selected.. I say "mostly" because the target charge level slider was showing 50% although my chosen setting is 85%. I then intended to resave it at 85%, but when I moved the slider to 85% the Save button remainded disabled. It Would only enable if I moved it to a position other than 50% or 85%. I decided to do nothing with the setting and see what happens at next charge window. Of course, I forgot to plug my car in, so no charge attempt last night. I will have to keep an eye on it.

One other thing I noticed is that my range estimate changed after 2.4.2 applied. Before the update the car showed 84%/172 miles, after the update finished it showed 84%/222 miles.

I went to my vehicle just now and as I approached I noticed that the back light of the center screen was on. I didn't unlock or open the car, just plugged it in, and sure enough the car has charge setting amnesia... It started charging even though it is outside scheduled charging hours. After about 2 minutes, the screen back light turned itself off.

I then went into the car and checked charge settings in the car. Sure enough, my home location was gone.

Perhaps the update reset the driving history and therefore affected the range estimate?

Yup. Same for me. The install went fine and did indeed take about 35mins. Afterward, the OPD was toggled off. That’s the only change I’ve noticed so far.

Did anyone notice the way more detailed notes for these updates on the NHTSA page? It’s weird these aren’t in the accompanying PDF.

Also wondering if that ESC performance note is for the Moose Run issue?
