Just started after 6k miles. It is a Standard battery with AWD and tech package. When I reach 30 miles an hour on up to about 45 I hear a new never heard before, engine or transmission noise/whine, that is very high pitch that changes loudness/frequency with speed but also when I come to a stop I sometimes hear it as it is almost like a small turbine sound winding down. It is definitely new and it is definitely not any of the pedestrian sound especially starting at 30 miles per hour. and of course I do not have the electronic sound turned on but it does not sound anything like that anyway. I might mention that this was the warmest day we have had in awhile at about 74 degrees. The car has been really flawless after a few bugs were worked out.

It would be helpful if you could post a recording of it.
I have been trying to but not a computer genius and when I attached the file it would not post.

It is an mp3 so I guess it needs to be an mp4 according to what it says

The noise at 42 seconds is pretty high-pitched. Is it possible that it’s wind noise? There are generally a lot more noises in that recording than I hear in my car. Where was your phone when you recorded it?

definitely no wind noise, I had the phone in the frunk but it is very distinctive when driving. It just started today and it starts exactly at 30mph and going over 30 it starts to diminish some but if you keep it at 30 the noise stays. thanks for your input

Sorry, not sure what would be causing that. I’d be interested to hear what it sounds like from inside the car.

It is exactly the same, just not as loud or pronounced. Now you do not hear the pedestrian sounds while in the car like you hear on my recording that was recorded from the frunk but you definitely hear the high pitch

Good morning, Terry! Could you please send us a private message with your VIN and dealership information? I would like to look into these noise concerns for you on my end. Thanks!

I think any electric motor makes some high-frequency noise due to inverters, which is unavoidable by physics. The hearing range of frequencies varies by person, so it might be not an issue for most non-sensitive people. I think it is really difficult to 'fix' as there are so many reasons why it happens and disappears.

For example, KIA EV6 was recently highlighted in Korean news that many people are complaining about high-frequency noises with lower speeds. But KIA claims it is normal to hear such noises for any EVs. E.g. https://insideevs.com/news/575602/kia-ev6-high-frequency-noise-korea/

Thanks so much. My Vin is 3fmtk1ss0mma54179
I purchased my car from Greenbriar Ford in West Va but had it shipped to where I live in Ga. All I have done is talked to the people in West Va since I do not live there but they did not have any idea what it might be. My local dealer has an appointment set up but they verbally did not have any idea and I do have a recording of it that is very pronounced. I will attach it. The high pitch starts at 42 on the recording and goes til about 57.

I appreciate your input. Mine only just started and it seems to get louder the more you drive the car. The first 6k plus miles it was not there, and then it just started and it is the same in all drive modes. I have attached a file for you to hear. It starts at about 42 and goes to 57. starts exactly at 30 mph. It looks like you might have already heard it but I will attach again if you did not. Thanks
