I thought of an interesting question today, and I thought this may be the place to ask it. If FORD could upgrade your GTs performance through an OTA, would you rather have:
The 5 seconds of full power changed to ten
or
5 seconds of full power, but 0-60 changed to 3.1 seconds

I’m curious…….

I’m already glad I asked. I would choose the party trick (3.1). I’m interested in the results.

I ordered a GT and a premium and had them both for six months the GT was nothing but a bunch of problems and stalling after five seconds was like hello Ford get your hand out of my engine.

I will be honest I rode it hard I was never worried about range I am a Rager at lights I jump on it ….always ... every light...the premium is better than the GT.

You’ll rarely win a jump off at the light if your pants fall off later. And I don't wanna hear about my 3.1 is better than your 4.3 none of that matters in real traction time. Most of the winning comes between your legs right on the seat. Hello Cojones. The numbers are for the magazines and for the track with the tires set up

I’ll rage all of you f@ckers out of the parking lot out of the street into the road on the highway and out of the desert every time. That’s all about aggression and one second never matters.

But freaking turning off and delimiting your engine does

I refuse to have someone put a governor in my engine or my two engines if they fix that I’ll come back to the GT otherwise loving the premium

I sold my first GT for two reasons it Bricked twice and it stalled after five seconds.

Loving the premium even more it just rolls better. I don’t want to be a pretend Porsche until Ford removes the limiter it’s freaking nonsense.

BTW.
I wanna make it clear I am not hating on GT owners or the GT. I freaking bought one literally a month after it was available. I bought the premium a month later and got them pretty damn quick. It was way before I ever posted on this board. They were both difficult first electric cars to own for me but the GT was a particular pain in the ass. Coupled with the fact that it just died after five seconds when I wanted to roll it up through the desert made it a very disappointing car. Never had that feeling from any of my two Teslas

I don’t know how many people have had a GT and a premium side-by-side but if any others out there have any opinions let me know

Once again…

I’d take 10 seconds.

but I’m not even that mad about the 5 seconds. What I am mad about is that after those 5 seconds, I fall back to less power than my 4X. If it fell back to 4X power, I’d be fine with it. Instead it falls back to Nissan Versa power.
What really gets me going is that even that 5 seconds of power has never been full power for me. You only get full power at full SOC (4X doesn’t care what your state of charge is, no noticeable drop off until the battery is super low) AND it’s above 50°. When it’s 10°, my 4X Doesn’t give a shit. When it’s 10° my GT-PE says “here Murse, have 15 grey bars of power limitation so even for 5 seconds you can only have 60% of the power, then we’re lowering it even further.”
Let me have full power at 40% SOC and 10°F, and I’ll happily live with 5 seconds.

This stuff is EXACTLY why I refused delivery of my GTPE. Huge mistake to put the GT name, then have the audacity to call it a Performance Edition, and have these restrictions. Ford should have called it something else and saved GT for a car that actually performed at that level.

Interesting take for sure. I'm on the opposite side - I went from a Premium to a GT PE and don't regret it one bit. The premium seats have almost no side bolsters so I would have to support myself through turns and the power delivery, even with the 5 second power limit, is still insane compared to the premium. I also love the wheels way more and the lit up pony... that alone is amazing! Lastly, the suspension on my Premium was definitely bouncy like others have reported, GT PE is great. I wish "whisper" was softer, but its still miles above the premium since my commute has roads that bring out the bounce.

10s or longer on the boost. While the car is OK to me, a longer boost would be nice. I don’t need it to be able to run as fast as my T/A, but a little longer on the grunt would be nice. ??

I love this. I was actually thinking most people would agree with me and choose the quicker 0-60. I don’t think I’ll floor it for more than 5 seconds anyway (I really never did in my Model S) so I would prefer to be super quick for short bursts. I totally understand why people are on the other side, but I’m surprised at how many feel that way. I’m glad I posed the question. I enjoy reading the interesting takes others have.

right now, I wouldn't mind if they increase 0-60 to 4 secs and give me 10 full seconds without limits.
