I think it will be closer to 2022. Even if the Mach E, ID.4, and other vehicles are preferred, that doesn't matter if they can't make enough to keep up with demand. Tesla will likely have the production advantage for 2021 and most buyers will not want to wait several extra months when they could get a Tesla with shorter delay.

Possibly, or that's just helping them expand quicker. They see that money available, so of course they make use of it. If it wasn't, they would probably do the accounting to still have a profit, and that would probably mean less factories at this point, and less sales, but could still be a profit.

Well, that is not what it looks like now. Concepts are concepts. A crossover is a car? I mean it sits 5 people right? One has trunk one has a trunk with fold down seats. You can go back and forth all day what looks like and what is. Are all cars the same by your theory?

What makes a Vehicle different in its same class is its trim pieces, inside interior design, and accessories.
EV crossovers ID4, mache, tesla model y, Ipac. They all sit 5 people, have trunk, seats fold down. The idea of what it is, well is all the same. But the ID4 that is for sale is not even close to looking like a Mache.

I mean damn a truck is a truck if we tape certain parts up who would know who makes it?

As far as tesla goes. Yes, they are not making money no gains yet. The future for Tesla is volume and getting the cost down. But again as much as I bash tesla without them, not of this would even be going on.

Do you think ford would have dropped the mache 3,000 if the ID4 came out of a price of 50,000?
Nope, its competition and competition is great.

here is a simple example, if all the things you want on an ev your getting ready to buy could be put on the EV of your choice. Which one would you choose? Well, I don't like the mache it has a slower 0 to 60. Now it has the same as the fastest. I Don't want a start button. Now it doesn't have it. I want the most range as any EV offers. So now what would everyone pick?

Then it comes down to how you like how it looks and the style. When it comes down to style and what your taste is only? Then by god jelly bean the mache and the ID4 don't look the same.

MIC drop....!!?

No, I don't consider those willing to wait a year after they place their reservation as most, nor 10% of previous Tesla owners as most. Not suggesting it isn't a significant number in the 10s of thousands, maybe even close to 100k by the time you count all other new EV alternatives like the ID.4, worst-case for Tesla that is under 20% less sales for 2021.

Might just as well throw in the Bolt as "the same" then. With the standard that the Mach-E and ID4 look the same, my red Bolt looks like the red Mach-E that I ordered and the red ID4 in that pic. I now feel enlightened since I have better learned how to compare the appearance of cars. If I were rational, I suppose I should either cancel my Mach-E order and stick with my "same" Bolt or order a new red Bolt since it is much less costly than a new Mach-E or ID4. The Bolt really is a nice car for me. Seriously, to many people, all of these cars probably look a lot alike. To a subset of people distinguishing looks, features, performance, etc. matter more than to others and a subset of those people will be willing and able to buy the car with the looks, features, and performance that they prefer.

Correct. IMHO, they are part of the vocal minority and early adopters, but not the mass market needed to sell hundreds of thousands of units in a quarter.

Just based on looks, I think the ID.4 will have good appeal. It doesn't have the sporty lines that the Mach-E has, but it does have a nice clean look that's usually popular with US buyers. Looks similar to the Honda CR-V, which sells very well in the US.

The vehicles are completely opposite. The ID.4 has the charge port on right rear instead of left front like the Mach E. I suppose it depends on your garage, but to me that would be way more of an inconvenient location to deal with every time you have to charge.

The pic is of a concept showcar. Literally everything changed.

The real ID.4 is so vanilla it will easily get lost in a parking lot.
