She's here! Arrived Saturday to West Hills Ford in Bremerton, WA -- picked her up yesterday.

For reference, PALSAPP never updated from the time she reached Argentine ramp in KC on 4/7. I checked with Ford chat and around the 28th she was scanned in WA, then made it to the dealer. It's a mystery why Ford cant track these any better, but... there is hope.

Dealer claims if I will be due any of the price protection, I will get it in a check from them. Not sure how everyone is getting their dealers to go ahead and give them the price protection.

And it's just beautiful The color almost looks like a deep silver in the dark but in the sunlight you see it's Ice Blue. Loving it so far! Good luck, everyone.

Just got a call from my dealer. Supposedly the car is at the port/depot awaiting transportation to them. My Ford.com account now shows estimated delivery of 4/30 to 5/6. Previously it was 5/20 to 5/26. And before that it was 4/26 to 5/3. I'm betting I don't get it until next week. But at least there's a light at the end of the tunnel now.

Okay 1/3 gang, one more question before I go and get my car sometime in the next 48 hours . . .

Extended warranty -- thoughts on whether it is worth it? Assume that I can get a price relatively close to the Flood Ford pricing from my local dealer.

Also, my local dealer offered me a Ford Premium Electric Maintenance Plan. It basically covers the first 10 scheduled maintenance visits and provides a rental for 2 days at $35/day if the need to keep the car. I will be buying, not leasing, and will want to car to last a while, so I will likely use all 10 visits. Any idea what a scheduled maintenance visit will cost? Is the $800 pre-payment for the 10 visits plus the rental car offer worth it?

Thanks all!

Skip the extended warranty. The most expensive part of the car already has an 8-year/100K mile warranty. I’d also skip the service plan since so little maintenance is needed.

Agree. Over time you come out ahead by self-insuring. Extended warranties have an obscene amount of profit baked in.

Bought my first new car in 1984, and got the extended warranty. Needed one repair on that, likely did no better than break even. I have bought a total of ten new cars (the MME if it ever arrives I think will be the eleventh), and skipped the extended warranty on each. All but three of the cars for at least ten years and over 100K miles, four of them over 150K miles. (The other three included one we outgrew after eight years, one that was totaled after four years, one we still have after four years.) I don't think we ever had a repair on any that would have been covered by the extended warranty.

I think they are going directly to the dealer. That’s what happened to me never went to the area in miami they usually sort out cars to dealers. United roads still says inactive. By tomorrow call your dealer!! You are close!!
You were right. I just got a call that it arrive this morning and I can pick it up this afternoon! Really excited. I'll let you know how the transaction goes in the near future.

Mine has started the every day change of estimate now! Good luck!
What does your estimate say now? I still haven't heard back from the dealer and Ford Chat tells me delayed... still 5/3-5/9

I exactly match your estimate now! We must be on the same train/transport.

On the other hand it has a lot of recently designed complex proprietary electronic components, sensors, etc. At this point nobody knows how reliable they are. And I don't think ford will sell spare parts for those systems cheap. Plus a lot of them would need calibration.
Maybe at some point there will be a market for used spare parts and millions of videos on how to replace them but I don't think it is gonna happen anytime soon.

I can't remember, are we getting our cars at the same place? Mine made the exact same switch yours did (date wise), and I know it's been waiting in Point Richmond since the 30th!

a lot of those components are part of the electric drivetrain, which are covered by that 8-year/100K mile warranty. I get that some systems, like the giant display, adaptive cruise control, etc, might not be covered, and thus an extended warranty might be necessary. But you don’t have to purchase the extended warranty until the bumper to bumper one is about to expire. And after nearly 3 years, you may find that the extended warranty isn’t necessary.

Same. Got an email from Ford a few hours ago to complete my purchase, and the shipped button is finally checked in the tracker.
Yup, just got that e-mail and now see this on the Ford site:

Looks like I need to generate an X-plan PIN finally.
