does anyone know how to access info, using the shipment API for Union Pacific? Secondary info: I don’t know about Postman yet, but am trying to learn.
Edit: I think it may not work. I think I need a MYUPRR account.
Hi did you by chance get a railcar # for SoCal?

Your post prompted me to check again; Norfolk Southern said the railcar was something like "XFRO *garble* Autoramp New Jersey," which I take as a sign that either the railcar has gone through Delaware and my car's no longer on it, or it's very near Delaware. Either way, yay!
You are at the Newark, NJ Doremus (that was the garble) auto ramp. Your rail ride is done!

I’m aware. Asked because our cars have been mutually sitting at Muncie ramp all week without an assigned railcar number. Wanted to know if there’s been any progress for @NGE OC
It is only a VVR or the ford chat that can provide a rail car#. Until that point, the car is stuck in limbo in Kansas (after it arrives in Muncie).

If anyone is interested, here is my notes file from my calling Union Pacific from when it was loaded on a train car at the "Muncie ramp" until it arrived at Industry (aka Mira Loma).

Thank you, after being in limbo, I was able to get a railcar # just now through chat. Should be in Mira Loma by the upcoming weekend.

Not Yet. Still waiting for a railcar to be available for my pony.
I kidded once that I thought the last train had to get to SoCal and back before the next one could go to SoCal, but I actually think that's the case now - either that or once again, I just went to the back of the lot.

Whoa - excellent news about the railcar # - what is it? Congratulations!!!!
Every time I try chat in the last hour, they say to try later.
Fingers crossed they don't leave me behind again.

I tracked my car using the automated phone line (this is Union Pacific railway only as far as I know)...no account needed and never spoke with anyone:

Call Union Pacific 1-800-877-5123:

Wait for prompt on language (1 for English)

Say “Trace”

Say 1 (number of units to trace)

Asks for rail car number (say it clearly and quickly because it will think you stopped if you go too slow)

Asks if you want a fax copy (say NO)

The system will give you a loaded date and time (does update every day as it hits different rail yards as it moves but does not say the specific cities) and an estimated final delivery date to the final rail destination. It will also give you an origination ramp location.
This is good info.
What I was wondering about was the API that UnionPac Railroad has that tracks cars realtime - but I have since found out that you have to be a developer for the shipping agent to have access. Too bad - it could be fun to see the location as it goes along. But if I can just get on the train, that will put a smile on my face.

I checked in with ford chat 2 hours ago and was given a rail car #. If you haven’t checked for today maybe try. We might be on same train.

Yay! Any way to find out when it gets put on a truck? {Jonathan}
Potentially, yes! See this United Road discussion from this thread that starts around here: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/3-14-22-build-week-gang.13889/page-107#post-403420
It continues for several posts (with more details) below the linked post. This one in particular details what worked for me to sign up: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/3-14-22-build-week-gang.13889/page-107#post-403445 Hopefully your dealer receives cars via United Road!

My car was delivered to the Doremus auto ramp about ten days ago, but didn't get unloaded until a week after it arrived. It's still waiting to get to the dealer. Keep calling NS until your railcar gets to a status of "actually placed", and then "unloaded". At that point it would show up in United Road as pending pickup if United Road handles deliveries for your dealer.

Still waiting, 10 miles away at the ramp.
I have verbal confirmation of PP from the dealer and will walk if they do not honor it.
What dealer did you go through if you don't mind sharing. It's been showing "picked" on the ordertrack site for about a week now. I suspect it's sitting at the railyard in KC waiting on a truck. I do have a signed sales agreement from when I placed the order but haven't heard anything from them on actually honoring it yet. They did not respond to that part of my email.
