FordPass is connected to the vehicle, I've setup Plug and Charge already, and the 250 charging hours already showed up.

Do the hours expire? I have no plans to ever use this.
Yes, in 2 years.

Even if you don't travel, if you have EA chargers local to you then not using the hours is simply throwing away money. My electricity is 12.5 cents off-peak, so this would be worth $31.25 if I didn't travel anywhere.

If you travel, and use Pass+, and are in a by the kWh state, this is worth 250 x 31 cents = $77.50 plus tax. If you didn't join Pass+, it's worth 250 x 43 cents = $107.50 plus tax. In a per minute state it's worth about 1/2 those numbers.

We have a trip next week of about 520 miles each way. Leaving with 100% charge, and charging at the hotel during our stay, means we'll use about 220 of the 250 hours, and have no cost except a $3.50 toll each way.

I'd rather have more hours, or money instead, but I'll take it.

Received another delay email. New expected delivery is 6/6-6/12. My car left Muncie, KS yesterday on railcar TTGX994338 and for some reason instead of dropping it off half way in Utah it’s destination is Industry which I understand from other posts is shorthand for Mira Loma, CA. I am obviously not smart enough to understand logistics.

Just sharing a bit of historical context:

Our Mach E replaced our 2017 Chevy Bolt. Our other daily driver is a 2002 Toyota Rav4EV that we purchased new 20 years ago (one of 238 built and one of very few still on the road). Still able to go at least 80 miles, but we rarely push it beyond 65 miles as we are trying to keep it on the road for as long as possible with correct vintage 20 year old batteries (it was rated at 80-100 miles of range when new). The battery technology was designed in 1994.

Ford Mustang Mach-E 01/10/22 Build Week Chat/Gang Rav4EV and MME GT PE

We only need one long range car since it is either my wife or myself who go a long distance at a time...or it is both of us together that are going a long distance at a time. The Rav4EV is now just used for local driving...and now there is not one public charger for it as far as I know in the greater Los Angeles area...so it is on a natural range limiter, but it is solid and reliable and it goes everywhere we need to go in it.

But wow...EV's sure have come a long way in 20 years... The 0-60 in the 2002 Rav4EV is much slower than the the 0-100-0 in the Mach E GT PE (The 2002 Rav4EV is 0-60 in 20 seconds). The Rav4EV was designed to be emulate the driving "performance" of the ICE (4 cylinder) version of the 1996-2000 of the Rav4 but it has a speed limiter at 78 MPH (but it is a slightly quicker 0-20). The 1000+ lbs of batteries at the bottom of the car gave it a much lower center of gravity. It had amazing tech for the day and other than window tinting, wiper blades, tires and the KYB rear shocks every part on our Rav4EV is 100% Toyota. Toyota built 1288 of them for the US market (almost all in California, but there were a few in New York and Georgia, and possibly Arizona), but from 1998-2001, they were only available to fleet lease customers and almost all of them were destroyed by Toyota after the lease was over. Only 339 of them were ever offered for sale or lease to the public in the 2002-2003 period-and few remain running or outside of museums.

Special features of the 1998-2003 Rav4EV:

26 kW NiMh "prismatic" battery pack (about 0.8 gallons of gas equivalent).
The front wheels are powered by a 67HP brushless motor that put out 140lb-ft of torque (it is 2WD)
Ceramic Aluminum front disk rotors (not available in 2003)
High efficiency heat pump/AC system
High Voltage (300V) Heated front windshield (defrosts in seconds, also not available in 2003)
Heated front seats [and optional heated rear seats - "cold weather package" (included on this car)] (also not available in 2003)
Induction charging (small paddle type). The 1998 used a Yazaki conductive and optional CHAdeMO fast charging and 1999 used a large paddle inductive).
Single speed transmission
Unique Low Rolling Resistant tires (LRR) ... 195/80 R16
Special light weight body panels and window glass.

(These cars should not be confused with the 2600 Tesla powered Rav4EV's that Toyota made in 2012-2014)

Since we sold our Bolt last year, we had been mostly using our 2013 Volt (that in 9.5 years has only used 186 gallons of gas in the 79K miles of driving @ about 422MPG (if you don't include electricity)). The 2013 Volt will go to one of our sons full time this summer since we now have our MME. Our other son has a 2017 Volt as well, but it too neither car will use gasoline on a daily basis. Typically we will get around 6000 miles on a tank of gas.

Since January 1999 we have driven well over 330K+ miles on pure battery power. Our 2013 Volt was the last new "gas guzzler" ;) we will ever purchase for my wife's and my daily driving needs. It has been over 20 years since my wife has pumped gas- she has no muscle memory for it and does not miss it at all.

I still have my modified 1965 Sunbeam Tiger show/race car that I have owned for 41 years and we could get some kind of vintage classic gas powered car for show/fun...but neither the Tiger nor anything else that we may get with a gasoline engine won't be used for daily driving.

I dialed 1-800-877-5123 for the Union Pacific tracker, followed the voice prompts and it said, “No record of this equipment on shipping lines.“ Maybe that means it’s disembarked (railcar empty and not currently in service) and close to delivery?

Have you been tracking it moving and now it says that...or is this your first contact with that train car?

I tracked my train car from loaded to arrived. When I checked the next day to see if it was unloaded, I had a message saying that it was empty and heading to Texas, so I knew that my car had been unloaded in Mira Loma at some point in the previous 24 hours.

I also checked CSX and it isn’t there. Perhaps do chat and check again? They may show it has arrived to the rail yard

I also requested info from the person that can track BNSF, just in case it’s through them

Is it listing Train destination at train’s final point? Still allowing for a drop off along the way?

Good info from stmthoma97!
J.Ezor posted info on accessing Norfolk Southern:
This worked for me, but only punching the numbers, not saying them:

"NS Norfolk Southern

1. Call 800-635-5768

2. Press 2.

3. Press 2.

4. Enter the letters on the numeric keypad then press #. As in: TTGX will be 8849

5. Enter the numbers then press #."

My railcar was TTGX980060, so once it asked me for the railcar identifier, it was 8849#, followed by 980060#, followed by pressing 1 to confirm. {Jonathan}

Definitely a possibility they could off- load it as the train passes thru Utah but given the 3-week postponement of my estimated delivery date probably not. Unless they’re going to handcart it the rest of the way. (google “handcart pioneers” if you’re not familiar with that reference— it’s a Utah thing)
