Hello everyone, I wanted to create a thread for people who have wrapped their Mach-Es to post photos! I am planning on wrapping my Mach-E IBSM GT when it arrives and am curious what colors people have done so far! ? Thinking about doing a pink candy shift or color change of some sort but have not seen a ton of wrapped mach es so want to see them all!!

I'm going to ask a stupid question...apologies in advance...do you have to have perfect paint to do this? I was told that because I bought a demo car with 5,000 miles on it that it wouldn't really be worth it to do PPF because the paint at that point was imperfect. Is a wrap the same? Does it cover the interior as well, where the doors are painted interior speaking? Thanks!

Probably don’t need perfect paint, but you will probably want to paint and polish any dings so that the wrap has a fairly smooth surface to get stuck onto. ??

@Polar was the first full wrap I know of. My premium had the first stripes but @Polar had the first full wrap. When I got my GT, I copied polar’s wrap and stripes.

It doesn't make sense for PPF if you have imperfections like large rock chips, scratches, etc. Typically owners would apply PPF immediately after purchase, or after any body work/repairs were performed to frontal facing areas. Many owners here took their Mach-E directly to body shops to get PPF applied. Some only doing partial front coverage and others doing the entire front clip (bumper, full hood, full fenders, mirrors, and fronts of A-pillars).

PPF is different than vinyl wrap by application and material, but both serve as the same basic principal of protecting the underneath paint. Vinyl wrap is meant to cover existing paint and finish. Now, it's also recommended to minimize any imperfections as they'll be seen through the opaque vinyl wrap (dents, deep scratches, etc.).

Not a stupid question. It’s the only way to learn anything.
Your paint certainly DOES NOT need to be perfect. But know that imperfections (chips and scratches) in the paint will result in imperfections in the wrap. It’s best to correct the paint with a light sanding, and polishing before you wrap. But it’s surely not required. Depending on the color you pick, your wrap may help hide the imperfections, or if you go for a screaming bright color, it could accentuate the imperfections.
Depending on how bad your paint is, PPF could still be worthwhile. I can’t imagine the paint is that bad after 5000 miles.
Most wraps don’t do the door jambs or interiors. But that can be negotiated between you and your wrap shop. I have wrapped and/or painted some of my interior trim to tie the inside/outside design together, but door jambs, around the hatchback, inside the charger port door… all still dark matter grey. This makes dark colors easier to wrap because if my car started as red, having red door jambs and a lime green car would be awful.

Thanks for the great information! Do you have a sense of what it costs to wrap a Mach-E?

Varies by region - and of course varies by shop.

My wrap was $4000 for the base copper, added $2000 for the stripes, nose, and full ceramic coating. $6,000 out the door.

We just spent $2000 getting PPF applied to the front 1/3 of our C40; PPF over all is more expensive than vinyl, T&M is just more over all.
