So my car arrived at dealership on 5/11. Here is the timeline of events after that:

5/11: I called dealership and they said sometimes it shows delivered but takes few days for dealer to receive it.

5/13: I called Ford and they gave me physical delivery proof, so I called dealership again and they changed the story that it came in with a scratch so they're fixing it.

5/16: I called for ETA so they said that actually some parts of the trim (premium, rwd) are missing so they are working on putting them in. They gave ETA 5/20

5/20: Today 5/20 I checked again and the dealer is now saying they don't have an ETA. I pressed on getting real issue with the car and got no response.

My dealer has better ratings on yelp than others in the area. I can wait few more days (already waited 10 months) but their changing story makes we anxious. What are my options to get the real reason from them? Do any repairs they make go in the car history?

That's a really fishy story from the dealer, I hope they don't try to pull a fast one on you saying you didn't come pick it up and then sell it to someone else with a markup

Pretty sure after 10 days a dealer can sell a car to someone other than the order holder. I’d get my ass over there and see it for myself before you’re out a car and another year of waiting.

I had a similar deal with a Honda Civic around 10 years ago. The Dealership said that they could not sell me the car because it had been damaged backing it out of the multi-car carrier. I stated that because I use it for Driver's Ed., I would not be opposed to still purchase it assuming that I would be able to retain the compensation from their Insurance Company. I said that I could/would fix it on my own or just wait for their repair on their end if I can't buy it with damage. Bottom line is that they had promised a price on it and wanted to back out of it.

I physically went to the Dealership and played coy to a different salesperson that I was looking for the a white Honda Civic. The "new" salesperson took me to the car and then I said I need to see my original salesperson.

To make a long story short, I caught them red handed. I filed a complaint to the Regional Manager and I ended up purchasing the car for the original agreed upon price. (it had no damage) I told them that I would pass this story on to anyone that had interest in a Honda and that I would never do business with them again.

Trust no one.

Go to the Dealership acting like you want to see a Mustang Mach E up close and don't divulge your name. You could have a neighbor or friend go in your place acting like they would be willing to pay mark up if you don't want to go. If the car is there, have them take a pic of the VIN number and see or ask them if there is any damage on the vehicle. If not, contact the Regional Rep and state you have a problem.

Good Luck!!!

Forgot to tell that the dealer says the car is sent somewhere for putting in the part. This is the message from them:

I'd anyway go to the dealership tomorrow.

I don't want to name the dealership yet. Just want to wait until my visit tomorrow giving them benefit of doubt. But wanted to be prepared for the visit.

Funny you ask for help on your post and everyone is trying to give you advice on what you ought to do but you don't want to share the Dealership name? What favors have they done for you except keep you in suspense like an Espionage movie?:mad:

Just because you read good Yelp reviews doesn't mean they are being transparent or care for their Brand.

Dealers are just like any other business trying to make the most $$$ they can.....Not all are shady but most Are! Nature of the Business of selling cars, (EV's any ICE).....

Best of luck with this anomynours Dealership.....

I'm guessing it's Frontier Ford.

I was just there an hour ago getting the oil changed in my Navigator and they had a new Mach-E ER Premium with no options other than red color with $14,995 ADM for a total of $71K.

Good times.
