deserving so. Updates (if at all) have a long way to go to be a reliable feature..This thread went south very fast lol
every thread does. it's just a question of how quickly. anything the folks from FoMoCo post gets a lot of attention. This thread went south very fast lol
I think most of the responses are valid and appropriate.. the original post is like telling the electric company "are you sure you checked all your mail" when you know full well the check is still sitting on your countertop waiting to be signed. Or telling your professor, "maybe there is something wrong with your email" because you are late on an assignment, but you haven't even started.every thread does. it's just a question of how quickly. anything the folks from FoMoCo post gets a lot of attention.
at least this particular one wasn't my fault. ?
that said, their post was valid and appropriate for the majority of the population, which the posters on this site are not going to represent, but the lurkers and the searchers probably will.
Set and ready for those GT OTA updates FoMoCoNever miss a software update!
- Set a recurring schedule: For more complex software updates, your vehicle cannot be driven during the installation (typically up to 1 hour). We recommend setting a recurring schedule for a time when your vehicle is not needed (like overnight).
- Confirm you have Automatic Updates ON: Most software updates happen in the background while you are driving as long as you have automatic updates toggled ON. This setting is ON by default but we ask that you check your settings screen to confirm.
Both actions can be completed from the settings screen in your vehicle. Click here for step by step instructions.
Agree. FWIW 2.6.0 failed the other week on my job1 MME. I could see it via the scriptable widget. It was successful a few days later. I'm not sure what was the retry trigger. I took it out for a couple of short drives to see if something would happen but it magically appeared one afternoon. I WFH and am not a daily driver.@Ford Motor Company, same as @COACH CHRIS for me. 2.7.3 failed on 5/24.
I thought it was 'revealed' the issue is the battery manufacture put the kibosh on stressing the battery on that particular 'version' of battery? The F150 doesn't have that limitation and I *think* the newer GTPEs with a different companies manufacture don't have that limitation.Ready the update(s) on my GT that:
Significantly improves or completely eliminates the 5 second full power limitation
Someone at the dealership told me it is good to schedule the updates for right after, or the night after, you drive the car.Well, OK. Because FoMoCo posted this... how might we trigger updates that have failed but are presumably unavailable? By way of example, I got this message on May 13, but nothing has happened since.![]()
Don’t forget the very useful >80% charging improvement. Unless you had the infamous HVBJB/BECM failure you probably don’t have that either.Ready the update(s) on my GT that:
- Prevent the main touch screen from crashing (~50% of the time) and resetting all of my driver preferences whenever I use FordPass remote start or scheduled departure.
- Consistently allows the rear door to open (100% of the time... not 90%) even if a front drivers or front passengers door is not opened first
- Allows me to completely turn off the motion sensors so that someone (human or dog) waiting in my car that's turned off won't set off the alarm.
- Significantly improves or completely eliminates the 5 second full power limitation
