Local Ford dealer has had my Mustang for a whole week and they are still not done. I had scheduled the windshield recall service and before I dropped it off the front camera hard-failed, causing me to lose collision assist and adaptive cruise as well. I actually had the camera fail while i was on the highway in cruise mode. The car alerted me and started decelerating immediately.
So I asked them for 10k service, fix the camera, and fix the windshield.
First off, dealers can’t really do the windshield service in-house, so if you’re going to get the recall done, call your dealer in advance and get ready to leave your car with them. You’ll need alternate transport.
Turns out, the part they needed to fix the camera was exceedingly difficult to obtain, and after 4 days of trying they are finally getting the part overnighted so they can finish up. I left it with them on Sunday while I traveled to San Francisco it won’t be ready til the following Monday.
I’m not upset - just posting an observation. Part scarcity is still very much a thing apparently. I just want my car back because I love the thing.
