Your "logic" isn't logic. The more plants, the more risk.
My logic is that you have a single plant pushing out thousands and thousands of cars within a relatively short time frame that’s basically 1st gen with new tech that they clearly haven’t worked all of the kinks out of yet. I’m just not too surprised that there are recalls.

Does this mean they will detune the GTs to avoid the problem? The 5 second limit will seem like a dream if they do that. Queue the class action lawyers.
DUDE! I was thinking that would be there "solution" too. F that! The'll be buying this junk back and paying for the mods. At the very least, forking over a major discount.

I know software fixes can take time, but in this case, on a problem that affects possibly every Mach E sold, you'd *think* Mr. Farley would "break glass in case of emergency" and have a couple of engineers and software developers working rotating overnight/24 hour shifts to get this done and send out an update. Ford can afford to pay those overtime wages.
And then we can get the hardware update, but if software can greatly reduce the occurrence of this issue, then I feel like all-hands-on-deck approach is needed. Maybe I'm biased here, but then again this is quite the issue.
What makes you think Ford doesn’t have engineers working on this around the clock atm? Cars are complicated. Identifying the cause and solution will take time. Whether or not we like it.

Can someone please post actual facts in another thread and then lock it?

Thanks.
Look at post #1. Same with the preexisting HVJB thread.
The earth is round.
Wait, what?! :p

This is against the law.
I know I am not in the US but reading the PDF on the first post on page 1 it says it is against Federal Law to "deliver" vehicles subject to a safety recall. I read that to be they can still sell you the car, you just can't drive it away.

While I don't understand the legality I assume even if it is legal to sell you the car without taking delivery the dealers won't do that. I think it covers if you purchased the car but weren't taking delivery until the next day then the recall pops up before you do. What crap luck if that was the case.

......., but contactors are rated for current, and I'm sure the Ford engineering team would not be foolish enough to mass produce a car with an under-specced contactor for the HVB. I'm also sure they'd run stress tests where the motor was drawing full power from the HVB for an extended period of time.
I think your confidence in Ford engineers is a bit high. It was the decisions they made that required cutting the nuts off the GT. I "believe" they had gotten too far into design with respect to release date to workout the GT's power flaws and upper brass said to patch the issue with software. In my upper brass voice, "Give it prison bars and greatly limit the hp after a couple of seconds. At least we can still state it has 480hp and 635ftlb torque. We won't advertise this like Porsche does for the Taycan. Without telling what we know, we'll let orders be made and cars get deliverered before allowing anyone to test and report performance numbers. Screw the customer. We gotta get this money."

I know with recalls it’s against the law to do any bank paperwork. I don’t know if this is different since it’s not a recall.

EVERY.CAR.IS.INCLUDED! This is a pre-recall notice.

Not directed at you, but it's clear that forum members have, regardless of their actual age, the emotional control of a 15 year old teenager. 😂
I thought it said only certain vins though..? So why would they post it for all cars?

They always say certain. IT could be a few it could be all. Ford will release how many are impacted at some point. It's also a question if it is a hardware fix, software patch, or both - and which vehicles get what. Too much unknown to speculate.

Just my opinion and not based off any facts, but I think it’s every damn car before 5/25. I think it sounds way better to say “maybe only some cars” than every MME ever built is going to have a recall! From a PR standpoint which sounds better?

McKenna, with your experience in selling vehicles - I know it's not cars, but still under the NHTSA, how long until this does become a full-blown recall with all the visibility and pressure on Ford to fix things?
