I would like to use my Ford pass to tell the charge to stop at 80% when I am at home and using the "charge when plugged it" choice. It goes to 100% when plugged in.

I have the " use preferred charge settings" programed to charge at 8pm and to 80% and that works fine.

I am using a Ford charger that has been working great. 60amp 240v

I struggled with this myself and spoke with Ford about it several times. They were unable to help me, however, a user on this forum did...it was "ChuckA" who educated me:

Everyone gets this issue at least once.. You set it up when you get the MME and forget the setting. Intuitively “charge when plugged in” makes sense, but it should be labeled as “disregard all the settings when plugged in”]

Larry here:
There is nothing wrong with the car or the settings per se. The problem is the wording of the buttons. Once you translate them, you should be consistent results.

I am assuming you have a location in your app under "Charge Settings/Preferred Charge Times"

For the example of "home" you should see two radio buttons. The top one says "charge when plugged in" and the bottom one says "Use preferred charge settings"

If you replace the words (charge when plugged in) of the top button in your mind to say: begin charging immediately to 100% power (and ignore all other settings) you would understand what that button does.

If the bottom button is selected, then it uses the settings listed under the location (for example 80% power from 10:00PM).

I have asked for to just eliminate those two buttons. They are not needed. The only thing that is needed is when the car is plugged in that you can press the charge to 100% charge immediately or you can change the settings...but the top radio button is poorly worded.

Does that sound like it is going to address your charge issue? (It did mine).

Set a schedule of 8pm to 7:55pm, and 80%. Done.

Thank you for a good explanation.
