Please share your Blue Cruise experiences in Hawaii on Freeways and Highways. My experiences on the mainland are if the road you are driving on lies in a valley between mountains, then BC hands free tends to drop out of coverage. Wondering if area highways/freeways, such as H3 on Oahu have similar issues?

My Mach-E arrives next week and when I test this on Oahu I'll update this post.

That's interesting. I drove from Calgary to Canmore (and back) this past weekend, and BC hands free worked the entire way except for a couple of very sharp corners. Sirius radio, on the other hand, kept dropping in and out. Even on the sharp corners it was steering - it just asked me to keep my hands on the wheel. The only other troublesome spot was where construction meant the road wasn't where it was supposed to be (that definitely confused it - basically kept telling me to figure out how to get back on the right road).

Fun fact - there are 6 functional Sirius satellites in orbit. There are 31 GPS satellites in orbit. Therefore, the chance that Sirius drops out is much higher.

I keep thinking the mountains might block the gps satellite signal lock. Limit number of gps satellites ? ? Just a guess. Probably blue cruise won’t work well in tunnels.

BlueCruise handsfree should not work in tunnels, because in tunnels they should not be encouraging handsfree driving IMO. I haven't yet had a tunnel to test this with.

However, one would expect a momentary loss in GPS not to impact BlueCruise like it does with Sirius, because logically I am on the same road seconds later.

What's BlueCruise? :p

I bought the optional 9,000 ft tall snorkel.

Extra brownie points for the SamuelFlyer btw. :)

Funny fact #2: Those 6 Sirius XM satellites? Yeah, they're not pointed in this direction. The odds you'll lose GPS signals are infinitely higher than gaining a Sirius Signal. On the bright side, we don't have subscription fees down here for Sirius. ;)

In all seriousness @Valkyrie, while I use hands-on Bluecruise regularly, I am curious as to how hands-free performs on the H-3 along the valley and in the H-1 parking lot. But I'll be dead, buried, and long-forgotten before there's a single controlled-access, divided, and surveyed road here. That will occur about two weeks before Tesla successfully engineers its FSD.

I have been on a Hawaiian Island Cruise but I still haven’t tried Blue Cruise yet on the mainland! :)
You're not missing anything. It's just the less well-known and costlier cousin to the Blue Hawaiian. Any resort hotel bar in Florida can whip you one up for a mere $27.50. :p

Not bluecruise and believe that is the Lane Keeping System you are explaining and has been on these vehicles since day one (not hands free). You need special highways to use bluecruise which we have none here. There is a bit down south here and looks like a bit in BC.

We have one of those on our red sand island also. Have one of them in my draw.

No sure BlueCruise will do well in a stop-n-go traffic. The H-1 on Oahu basically is a parking lot most of the time near the heart of Honolulu. Just like I wouldn't use it in LA traffic during rush hour. Great for LA->Vegas runs.

Ford decided to call the Lane Keeping Assist ā€œBlue Cruiseā€ as well, just to make things clearer. ??

Thereā€˜s Blue Cruise and hands-free Blue Cruise. ??
