Anyone have any experience with the Toronto railyard? My MME has been sitting there for a week now with no updates.. assuming it's waiting for a truck to pick up.

It was anything but smooth sailing...

This went back and forth for at least an hour and a half. The manager emails someone at Ford and confirms the original purchase price.

It depends on the dealership. Mullinax Kissimmee was amazing. They brought up the old price on their system and we used that for Ford Options. Ford is sending me a check for $325 for the active prep kit. I saved $3K including the $1K Options rebate.

I was in the same boat. Didn’t capture the original purchase price. However, I sent emails to the dealer and the manager when the price changes took effect on my order. That said, emails aren’t official paperwork. I can’t say if you’ll go through what I went through. Dealers will try to maximize the dollars they try to get out of you.

I learned of Smart VINCENT and DORA through the price protection thread. I’ll find that thread for you. Essentially, Smart Vincent is the system they use to capture original order sheets, incentives, finance options and stuff. The DORA is the paper that lays out the pricing and price changes over time.

Let me find the thread. Give me a little bit of time.

I am so sorry. What did the manager say to the installed license plate?

that it's very difficult to "catch" (my car arrived about 3 weeks earlier than expected). the sales person I had been working with for months was out sick the week it did arrive. I spoke to another sales person the day the car came in and before they did PDI and told him the same - no bracket. apparently even some employees have requested it before but it slipped through anyway? idk just a bunch of excuses and the promise that it wouldn't happen again. not much help to me now but it's not like they can undrill the holes. my priorities shifted away from that when I saw the loan terms weren't what I was told and some extra charges showed up on the terms. normally a good dealership I think (and they are taking care of those issues) but a headache nonetheless

I'm going back today to sign paperwork (needed a cosigner for the better financing) but I thought I'd inspect the car again. one issue I've been having is the rear view. I test drove two before buying and one had this issue, one didn't. basically I can't adjust the mirror enough to actually see out the back. I'm 6'5" but adjusted the seat enough that I could see before but the mirror I got doesn't go far enough. I can only see the top of the backseat. do I need to get an aftermarket mirror? any suggestions?

p.s. how do I check the puddle lamps during the daytime?

Don't understand why is there no movement from June 14, spoke to Ford and my dealer as well, no one has any idea when it would move out of Corpus Christi,TX

I talked with a friend of mine who used to work in the freight industry. I asked about my car being stuck in Elkhart, IN, and he had a few thoughts on that.

• Car loaders in non-port cities tend to be in short supply, slow, and sometimes in need of repair. In port cities they can't afford the inefficiency, so they tend to be more motivated to offload them quicker. The problem is then finding a place to put them.
• Once the cars reach a switching area, the wait times can skyrocket while waiting to fully load a destination railcar or lining up a set of railcars.
• If the yard has a large ramp or parking lot, an insanely large number of vehicles can back up waiting for humans to drive cars and transporters. For more expensive cars, not just any employee is allowed to participate as the company is responsible for dings.
• When rail companies need to work together, cargo suffers.
• The industry as a whole is operating at capacity.
• The rail companies are not penalized for delays that are within national norms, regardless of whether your dealer is within sight of the factory or yard.

@StillWaitingForMachE, @jr4, @WSoxFan22 do you mind sharing your rail car #s? Mine is AOK 501582, which shows to still be at Elkhart since June 24th. Just want to see if the car will be moving by rail to Chicago. I highly doubt they’ll load it to a car hauler 120 miles from the dealership.

Ok, that’s reassuring.

I just checked with Norfolk Southern and my car is on the move as of an hour ago. Still in Indiana, but making its way northwest.
