My car is an EA Job 1 and it got the 2.8.2 update this evening. Deployment was created at 2:19 PM today and completed at 5:02 PM. I was driving the car locally for errands with two stops from about 4 to about 5 PM.

Wow! I just checked my car's OTA data on the Ford website and there is more incoming! Deployment created at 1:48 PM today and current status is request_delivery_queued at 1:49 PM. This is Ford Power-Up 2.8.3. The car has been parked at the office since late morning, so I expect it to download while I am driving home.

Update: Power-Up 2.8.3 completed about 5 minutes after I got home. Two updates in two days.

OTA update triggers for my car appear to be around 2 PM, so I read the car this morning. Power-Up 2.8.3 is an APIM update. The image [8033] went to MU5T-14G682-JV from MU5T-14G682-JT. All the applications had the same part numbers. It will be interesting to see when they update the maps as it has been over a year.

It's been nearly 3 months since the early access member began to get 2.4+ BC updates. When it will be available to everyone? No one in Canada has it.

I'm under the impression that Ford server are not ready to deploy such a large update to ten of thousands of cars and they have no clue how to do it. That's why they offer the update at the dealer (but again, not available in Canada).

I hope Ford would release a statement to explain what's happening. Delay after delay it was supposed to be available in Q1 2022. I don't consider something available when it's only for Early Access members (and we have no EA in Canada).

I highly doubt it’s an infrastructure issue. Data and bandwidth is just $$ these days and easy to implement

I think it’s more risk based.

if you’re doing an OTA update and something goes terribly wrong, you could leave people without a working car

If it’s in a dealership, it’s in a safe place to troubleshoot and work through it

if you think about how many of these updates work…(at least via Frds) they’re actually wiping modules of the car and overwriting them…. Lots can go wrong

I’m sure there’s lots of federal regulators over watching right now and monitoring risks… Tesla has gotten their hand slapped once or twice already
