So I just realized I never came back and gave that update....Well I will definitely update this thread if it works. The other folks in the Mach-E FDRS programming thread seem to have gotten to BC functionality by using FDRS, so there's hope.

I started updating the Mach-E and it was a little more challenging than the F-150 had been because of the smaller and less capable 12v battery. I did use the same 20A ProLogix battery charger/power supply I used while programming the truck, but even that wasn't enough while doing the update on the IPMA, and I had to pull the F-150 alongside and add more juice by jumpering the truck to the Mach-E with the power supply already in place. But hey, I had plenty of juice then! In fact I'd say that if you don't have a dedicated power supply but you do have a vehicle you can use to provide the needed boost while programming then you should consider it. If I had to do it again I wouldn't hesitate.
Like the truck I first started looking for either the TCU or the GWM modules to update first. The GWM module is key because its the one that makes communication with the others possible. My TCU didn't need an update so I went with the GWM first. After the GWM I picked the power steering module and then things got really interesting, cause picking that chained a bunch of other modules to be updated at the same time. I slowly worked though all the modules and just whittled the list down until I had just the IPC showing. I quit for the day and picked up the next morning. IPC went smoothly and immediately afterward I got another GWM update and then finally one more APIM update that brought me to Synch 364. Shortly after posting the update results to the server I got the message in FP that my BC trial was active.
So during the process...when a module got updated, if a new GWM update showed up I would always do that one first, cause like I said before the gateway is key to making it all work.
I did eventually knock out all the updates for the many door modules, and the battery controllers, and something called the Remote Function Actuator. So I have nothing showing on my SW Updates list and things seem to be working fine.
I'm glad I got this done. Especially after I saw that post where somebody had talked to Ford Customer Service and they were told that the OTAs were now delayed until the end of the 2nd Qtr. Pretty sure I read that on this forum somewhere the other day.
But the dealers should be able to get folks up to speed.
