For what its worth my dealer said this:
"Still not scheduled yet. What we have seen before if you don't get a VIN assigned before next order year you get converted over"

I ordered a Select AWD around March 9th, and I have no idea if I will be getting a 22 or not.

I would think with how quickly the selects are getting scheduled you would probably get into the 22 model year, but its super hard to predict with ford since the scheduling seems quite random.

I ordered a GT (non-PE) in early April, a few days before the order banks closed. My dealer advanced it to the highest priority they could. At this point I really wonder whether I'll get a '22 or '23?!

No.
Last year they gave out an incentive that was about equal to the difference though.

It should be applied at point of sale like other manufacturer incentives. They should be able to see it in their smart vincent system. This next year who knows since the price is more likely to go up $5k as opposed to less than $1k. I don’t think Ford wants to eat that money which is probably why they killed orders so fast.

If you don’t make enough to have that level of tax burden you can’t afford the car. If you have a good income and can afford the car but can’t take advantage of the tax credit you will be ok.

We ordered on 12/17/2022 - Dark Matter Gray Premium Extended Range. Based on my analysis (from this forum, seeing what others say, looking at the orders / stats data, Ford chats) I'm feeling like this will be the week we get a build date - reasonably optimistic. I also consulted with my dealer about it and our vehicle is the oldest (order) they have outstanding with an "unscheduled and clean" status. We are at the 30 week mark.
