Sigh @Ford Motor Company ...
After seven months and one week, my MME came in yesterday to my dealer (Santa Margarita Ford here in California). My appointment to pick it up was today at 3pm but now the dealer will need the MME until Friday for body shop repair. I'm booked Friday so will have to pick it up on Saturday.
What the actual F**K! To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.
The damage is on the nose is to the right and left of the pony. Here is the worst one:
My Dad was an insurance adjuster for over 30 years and, though he's been gone since 2013, his advise all my life on new cars would have been, "Don't accept it. Even painted it will never look right."
I'm going to demand that @Ford Motor Company replace the nose with the pony vs. living with it being painted. Anything else I should do?
Nothing will be reported to Carfax.the damaged body panels will be pulled off to paint regardless.... once painted you won't be able to tell. But, they should give you SOMETHING for delay and smirtch on carfax for resale.
Repairs before registration are not reported. I worked at a Ford dealer years ago and its very common to get damaged cars delivered. Sometimes we had a dozen a month from sales of around 250 so 5% sometimes came in with some damage.the damaged body panels will be pulled off to paint regardless.... once painted you won't be able to tell. Not exactly. My new ‘12 KIA Sorento had a entry on it’s Carfax report that the “missing catalytic converter” was replaced at the dealer at 2 miles. Value was not penalized since it’s not an accident.Repairs before registration are not reported. I worked at a Ford dealer years ago and its very common to get damaged cars delivered. I highly recommend you to talk to the dealership and make sure that the car will be repaired by a body shop not a paint touch up guy in a van. Make sure that they know you are being serious. My car has been in a body shop for 27 days and counting because a paint touch up company ruined it. A total down time has been ramped up to 33 days and counting!!!!!!!!Sigh @Ford Motor Company ...

Your state probably has an EPA type check. The car is not in the system until it is titled or undergoes something they report to a State or Federal bureau. A car that comes off the truck with body/paint damage and gets repair prior to registration there is no carfax report. Not exactly. Found out late yesterday (after my post) the name of the body shop and they're a top-notch one. The dealer sales manager also called to "talk me off the ledge" as I was pretty agitated. I now have confidence the 'nose grill' will be painted well and look good.I highly recommend you to talk to the dealership and make sure that the car will be repaired by a body shop not a paint touch up guy in a van. It is also true that the paint will not look the same.
Maybe on my case it was a crime and the police probably were called. The car was in the dealer’s lot and wasn’t the only one damaged.Your state probably has an EPA type check.
