I’m sure you were glued to him as you say, however, a well driven GT350 runs 12.0-12.3 1/4 miles at 118-119 mph stone ass stock. The only way you stay glued to one above 60mph is if they’re short-shifting at 6500-7000rpm instead of ripping to 8250. And lol at him being an a-hole. Maybe he just wanted to run you…
Maybe he wanted to run me, but what didn't know was that I was in Whisper mode and not even close to floored. I'm sure on a straight drag on a track, there would be better performance from this cat. But he didn't have it that day on a real road. As a reminder, he was in front of me, and ripped on green. All he got for his trouble was me smiling ear to ear back at him in his rearview. And this object was closer than he appeared.

Racing happens side by side. Never tried to race someone in front or back of me.

Maybe he kept going faster trying to get the ahole off his bumper?

But either way, no chance you are hanging with a GT350 at those speeds if he’s at full throttle. Especially if, like you said, you weren’t at full throttle.

Side note- whisper and unbridled accelerate the same at full throttle.

Yep, you were. And he’s on the GT350 forum tonight saying some Mach E GT was riding his ass from a light all the way up to 110 mph while he short shifted every gear toying with you. ???

We've seen it before, but here's yet another drag race. Goes exactly as we know it will, Mach E holds well and even wins one, but the 5.0 has better high-end speed.
Once Ford figures out how to not cripple the MME GT with a 5 second limit, it will be a drag strip monster. Honestly, even giving full power for 8 seconds will see the MME easily beat the 5.0.
@Ford Motor Company take notice...everyone is unhappy this car loses power at 80mph! Doesn't matter much on public roads (yes, people, passing is still more than possible at high speeds) but it would still be nice to unleash the full power!

Agreed, GT on the Mach E stands for 'Good Try'.
The MachE's are definitely worthy of the Mustang Name, the GT is not worthy of the GT badge.

I had a Shelby GT 350 in front of me a couple of months ago at a light to get onto a ramp to the EZ Pass lanes of the DC beltway. The guy was giving me that "you don't have a real Mustang" glare, and I knew he was going to punch it on green to have me eat dust.

When the light changed, I stayed right on his bumper up the ramp. We shot out of the ramp at 90, and I stayed with him to 110 before backing off (I don't want to go to jail). But I wanted him to know I could do this all. day. long. BTW, I left it in Whisper mode and I didn't need to floor the accelerator to keep up - likely also the reason I didn't experience the down throttle at 80 mph.
You definitely couldn't do it all day, a few more 0 to 110 runs and you'd need to find a charging stations for an hour. That GT350 will run at race speed all day long.

Don't get me wrong, i love my mach-e but there isn't a single thing on it that compares to a GT350.

So the base model is a Mustang but the GT isn’t?

Trust me, I’m as annoyed about the 5 second limit as everyone else here, but I definitely don’t understand your comment.

Outside of the 5 sec limit, the performance on the Mach E GT is spectacular.

Compared to the ICE Mustang GT, the MachE GTPE…..

-is faster to 60 than every Mustang GT ever made
-brakes better than every Mustang GT ever made
-has a higher skidpad (.99 G) than almost every Mustang Gt ever made

From a performance standpoint, this isn’t worthy in your opinion??

Pretty much. The MME GTs are great handlers and the brakes are stout as well. I do think the PP2 level GTs definitely outbrake them though, and they pull 1.08-1.10 lateral G. 305 section width Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s will do that ??

Yeah it really is just that high-end acceleration Ford needs to improve upon, either with software for this gen or hardware for a future MME gen.

Apologies, they are both worthy of the Mustang name, the GT isn't worthy of the GT badge.

Your points are spot on, but the MachE Premium almost matches the ICE GT.

The MachE GT should be leaps and bounds better than the Premium. The 5 second limit just disqualifies the GT from the spirit and intent of the GT badge.
We just bought a GTPE July 2nd, we love it, we do! It's just that silly 5 second thing. (Love the DMG color as well)

Maybe, maybe not.

The GT performs as a GT should, even with the 5 sec limit it’s obscenely fast to 60 and still runs 12s.

It also beats the 4X in everything.

The difference between a 4X and GT is about the same difference as an ICE Mustang ecoboost and GT.

Better acceleration, better handling, better braking, better looking. What more would it take to be a GT?

Again, the 5 seconds thing sucks. But even with it…. It still performs.

All great points, but even the Ecoboost doesn't have a five second rule. It's a Stallion with a Five second Leash!

Imagine if Chevy would have given your SS 415 HP and Torque for only 5 seconds?
"The 6.2L LS3 small-block V-8 is the power behind the SS’s driving experience. It is SAE-certified at 415 horsepower (310 kW) and 415 lb.-ft. of torque (563 Nm).....) for five seconds, then we throttle it back! So come and experience Chevrolets answer to the BMW M cars. See it at your local dealer today! "

But if it also did 0-60 in 3.5…….

Unfortunately, this seems like the reality of electric cars for now. Many have one version or another of a “boost mode.”

From Ford to Hyundai to even Porsche.

Taycan Turbo S. One of the fastest production cars ever made. $180,000. And it has a timed power limit too.
