Your lanekeeping icon |*| thing will be green in a non-BlueCruise area and blue in a BlueCruise area….or at least, so I’ve read. I STILL DON’T HAVE BLUECRUISE ON MY JOB 1.5, not that I’m bitter or anything. :)
Thanks, and sorry.

Now I have to find the lanekeeping icon. I assume it's on the small screen- is it always visible? I never have lanekeeping turned on, and don't recall having seen the icon (not that I've looked for it).

We were futzing around this morning with the not-so-convenient vent controls, and noticed they put a louvre, like the fake vent on the passenger side, behind the screen, which seems superfluous at best.

Then we noticed that behind the bottom part of the screen there's an inset panel that has a ridge almost like a little grab handle. IT kind of feels like a stop for a tilting screen, but the screen doesn't tilt (or does it?). Any idea what that's all about, or what's behind that panel? It could make an excellent little hidey hole, were one so inclined.
The fake vent is just that. It is a continuation of the styling between the two functional vents on the passenger side. 😊🐩

The little bump on the lower dashboard that is obstructed by the screen is for the little light that illuminates the little tray for the wireless charger. 😎🐩

Why don’t you have the dealer install it?

Thanks for that - I understand how to turn it on, I just don't know when I can turn it on.

Do I have to wait for the notification to pop up and hit the cruise control button while it's showing? Do I have to turn everything on and just see if it goes into BC? Or is there an indicator somewhere that tells me "Hey, you're in a BC-approved area, you can turn it on whenever you want"?
This is how it works for me:

I drive the car the way I want. Hand(s) on wheel, foot on/near pedal.

Then I decide I want to use cruise control so I turn it in from the steering wheel.

I typically also turn on lane centering if I'm cruising on the highway.

I'm still driving at this point, but the car is assisting with speed control and some of the steering.

Finally, BlueCruise hands free mode enables, by itself, if I'm in a qualified area and driving conditions are appropriate (I'm paying attention, centered in my lane, etc).

That's how it should work for you, too. The most important requirements are that you have cruise control and lane centering both turned on, and you are paying attention with hands on wheel.

The only time the lane keeping system indicator (left of the odometer) turns blue is while it is fully enabled. It won't turn blue just from driving within a pre-approved hands free zone. It's only blue when ALL conditions are met (cruise is on, lane center active and working, etc.).

Turn on all the features. There is no reason to not have lane-keeping on all the time. Turn on Cruise Control. As stated, when it's in a handsfree zone, it will tell you.

I turn off lane keeping on side roads because I like having the speedometer centered in the display.
