I sold the ICE yesterday. After having a PHEV for three years the gateway drug-car did its job and convinced me to go EV. I’m so happy to be moving into the electrified future. Who else is without an ICE car now?

You will never be without an ICE vehicle until you cancel your Amazon Prime (and anything else that ships that your purchase).

It’s really hard to let go of the drugs. ?

I was aiming for it with our Lightning reservation, but between the rule changes on the tax credit and the Lightning price bump, I think I will just keep the hybrid F-150 for a bit longer and just try to use the Mach-E for any trips under 4 hours. Gas vs Charging stop times aside, the comfort of the F-150 is almost unbeatable, so if going on a loooong drive it would still be worth it.

I did it the other way - I got the Mach E in 2021 while my wife held on to her 17mpg Durango. Thankfully I talked her into a PHEV which she took possession of in mid July - trading in that gas guzzler. She generally only drives 5 to 10 miles a day and I am pretty good about keeping her car charged up, but she has burned roughly a gallon of gas in a little over a month. I still consider that very much a win, as she used to put 20 gallons into that Durango every month!

Our Mach E is our only car now and has been for about a year and a half. It’s great for driving around town - sometimes I only charge every two weeks. We’ve taken several long road trips with it - just takes some planning but hasn’t held us back. I’ve ventured off the beaten path with it too - more than once - THAT takes a little more planning but still doable (not everywhere though.) I love the car but for my next one I think I’d like something a little bigger - I’m tall and I like having a little more room, like maybe something sized like a Ford Edge or BMW X6 (my last two cars.) Definitely wouldn’t downsize to a sedan - ok, maybe a convertible?.

My biggest concern at the moment is the maintenance of the DCFC’s. There are too many inop units out there (Are you reading this Electrify America?) Hopefully, with the influx of the recent federal funding, the situation will improve rapidly.

I wish Ford had a decent range PHEV. The F-150 hybrid doesn't have enough of an efficiency gain to make it worth switching to it, and the Lightning price without tax credit is absurd, so we're not going there. Hopefully the Explorer EV will have more like 400 mile range and then we have to decide if we get rid of the ICE F-150.

The Escape PHEV has decent range, but it can’t be had with AWD, which is what took it out of the running for me.
The Corsair PHEV only comes in AWD, and is essentially the same platform as an Escape but with much nicer appointments and handling. My wife absolutely loves hers, even though it was hard to get her out of the mindset that she needed something with 3 rows of seating. Now that she's got it she is very happy - especially with the smooth ride.

I have the MME and a car and an SUV that can get insanely abysmal gas mileage if I try. ??

Last month went all electric! Wife gave up her prized Mini Cooper convertible when she realized she was spending $150+ per week on gas (long commute daily) and we picked up a 2023 nissan Leaf SV Plus.
We are both happy about the changes especially the fuel savings. While I do 1/10 the mileage my wife does, I am currently at approx. $.03 per mile versus my ICE Escape that was at $.12 per mile.
No worries for me travelling long distances, the MME gets me where I need to go.
I do have a long trip planned in the near future and have already mapped out the route with secondary charge locations in case of malfuntioning chargers or crowded chargers.

I had considered the Corsair, but the only Lincoln dealer in my state is two hours away and doesn’t do electric.

I only have my MME. I want a Maverick PHEV for anything my MME is not ideal for. But those are as hard to get as our cars.

I echo your DCFC concerns. This was a large consideration for my wife and I in upgrading her Select AWD to a GT. The switch has turned our 1 stop trips into nonstop trips, and our 2 stop trips into 1 stop trips.

We have 3 vehicles currently: MachE, an Escape PHEV, and my F150 with a V8 and a 36gal tank :) .

We bought the Select AWD MachE first, replacing my wife's 2018 Explorer. We loved the car so much that I immediately started looking for another BEV as a commuter for myself. I wanted something cheaper and the Bolt was in stop sale at the time (plus no credit). I test drove a Hyundai Ioniq Electric (not the Ioniq 5) and was not impressed. Markups on the Kona and Nero were ridiculous.

After searching every dealer from Massachusetts to Georgia I ended up finding an Escape SE PHEV at MSRP in Philly. It is not a drivers car, but is incredibly practical. I can get up to 49mi of EV range in the summer (about 35 in the winter). I can operate it as a BEV for most if the year and as an ICE for longer trips. We took it to Florida and back for a wedding in April and averaged 42mpg. Subtracting the tax credit, we paid less than $30k for it.
