I have not had this issues. What is the outside temperature? Are you DCFC? Maybe a faulty charger and best just to sit for a few minutes for the car to normalize the temp of the battery.

Then if you need more juice find a different DCFC.

The temperature onside is 98 and i was using dcfc 350kw. Now i left the car completely off and we will come back after an hour. Also today i used two chargers and both my speed was 84kwh after 80 went down to 19. And thats weird because I thought the car comes with the latest updates from the manufacture.

I haven’t seen that before, is your A/C working well? That error could indicate there’s a problem with the battery cooling system. You probably want to park it with the ignition ON and the HVAC completely turned off so the full cooling capacity can go to the battery.

Daniel, this is concerning for sure! It's not hot here (Phoenix metro) recently due to recent storms... But even when it is crazy hot outside, I've never seen that particular message (nor the related speed limiting).

You need to get it in to service. But in the meantime, to get home or someplace overnight, you might want to let the vehicle "run" in full ON (ready to drive) mode for 30+ minutes, without actually driving anywhere, to give it a chance to actively cool down the battery pack. The car should be using its coolant pump as well as the HVAC system to cool down the pack. It should be fairly loud.

Assuming it's the whole pack that's hot and not just a malfunctioning sensor, if you just let the pack passively cool down is going to take a really long time because it's a huge thermal mass.

  • Drive conservatively, using less regen is advised in hot weather to reduce pack heating (Whisper mode uses less regen).
  • Avoid DC fast charging if possible.
  • Consider reducing your EVSE charge rate setting to 32A or less to reduce charger heat load if you desire less fan noise or have charging errors.
  • Do not set climate temp below 70ÂşF and use recirculation mode in extreme heat/humidity to reduce cabin cooling demand (leaves more capacity for pack cooling).

After 80% it drops to 44 kW for me. My 2021 RWD SR would go to 9 kW after 80%

Is this a brand new 2022 model with the latest recall fix?

Strange. Johathan is right - let it cool down, which will take a while and then get it to the dealer. They should be able to pull the codes and find out what is wrong. I've seen the opposite message here in Colorado when I parked it outside in single digit weather advising me to plug the car in due to the cold temperatures. This is a first that I can remember with that message and Patrick and Liv took theirs across the desert in much higher temperatures without this error.

Please let us know if letting it sit for a while resolved the issue, even if termporarily.

When charging your car at night (assuming it's still really hot outside), I recommend you set your wall charger (EVSE) to 32A (instead of 40A or 48A). Higher amperage requires more battery cooling. Although I agree with the other posts that you need to have the dealership look at your MME, the lower current (i.e., 32 A) is a good preventative measure that will put a *bit* less thermal stress on the battery. It doesn't matter most of the time, but it can make a difference in hot weather.

I live in Goodyear, and the Surprise and Avondale dealers, as well as Bell Ford, are clueless.
IF you find a knowledgeable dealer, please post.

Good luck.

Yikes. Yes, I would get it into service as soon as possible. If you don't have a OBD device to pull your own codes, I would do that.

Thank you guys for all comments. Today was stressful day. I finally arrived home after couple hour’s trying. If you experienced the same issue just turn off your car and go somewhere for an hour. I tried everything i parked the car and let it run for 30 min then for another 30 min with AC on full power. After that i went to dcfc to plug it in just hoping the fan will cool the battery. Nothing helped. At this point i was so pissed off i just turned the car off and went to Starbucks to get some drink. I stayed about 40 min there when i came back and turn the car on everything was ok.
That was my first time driving the car on a long drive and i dont feel confident to do it again. I didnt force the car or drive like mad. My Ac was on 74 most of the time, outside was 98. Also forgot to mention next day after i picked my car from the dealership Tire Pressure Sensor Fault message showed up and its still there. I am definitely going to the dealership on Monday but i am not sure if they will do something. I wish i had the software to read all the updates available.
Also want to share my car was build the week of 07/04/22 and delivered on 08/17
I love the car. I love the ride and everything but to get stuck in Tucson 130 miles away from home is not fun experience.

Your dealer should be able to get both concerns straightened out. It might help them a little if you contact Ford customer service (800) 392-3673, ask for the BEV team, and let them know what's happening and which dealer you've dropped it off with.

Sorry this is happening, especially while the car is still brand new. This sucks. :( But hopefully they can get it repaired properly and quickly.
