Oh I agree, I bet every single GT HVBJB will fail eventually.I suspect for the GTs, it's not a matter of if, but when for these to fail. Mine failed last evening just driving about 50 in some traffic, flat road, not too hot and not doing WOT. This has to be costing Ford a lot considering the volume and cost of labor.
It would cost them less in terms of rental car and incidentals for owners -- much less the erosion of goodwill and any loyalty to Ford -- if they would just organize an orderly program to replace GT junction boxes proactively.
They're going to have to do it anyhow, IMHO. This isn't a rare problem....
