That 360 camera thing seems a bit nuts. The first time someone backs over a pet and Ford had their 360 camera disabled one has to wonder how that lawsuit will go. "I bought the car it had 360, got laid off and could not afford the subscription now my cat is dead."

Whats next, side curtain airbags, $5 a month.

I know you are being deliberately facetious, but airbags are a federally mandated safety feature. 360-degree camera, not so much. You'll still have the basic backup camera to avoid running over the cat/child/tricycle/child-on-tricyle/cat-on-child, because the basic backup camera is also federally mandated.

I just read up on it -- I hadn't heard about the "new" credit. Is there any word on when we'll hear about whether the battery composition qualifies?

This completely blows up all the price comparisons I had done before deciding on a Mach-E back in April.
Currently made in korea and poland. They are trying to add capacity to georgia

According to a google search side curtains are not mandated. Disabling a installed and functional safety feature for lack of payment seems nuts.

Tesla did it, they locked their battery capacity behind a paywall to get full capacity

They might as well be mandated:

"Side airbags aren't specifically mandated, but nearly all manufacturers include them as standard equipment in order to meet federal side protection requirements."

I’d be happy with price protection. It’s another 7 grand or more potential initial resale if I get another “brick me thrice in da desert” model
I could care about the tax rebate as I always been a 1099 income guy with corporate filings that would not risk that with all the other issues I have filing taxes it’s an audit trigger … and saves me little.

$1900 to unlock blue cruise and 360 cameras after 90 day trial.
Seriously? That seems……. Odd.

On the 21-22 if you didn’t check that box you didn’t get the hardware.

I guess they’re using the crack dealer approach? Give us a taste?

As odd as it is, it’s actually better. You get to try before you buy and if you don’t want it? It costs you $0 and you can always change your mind later.

So I went to the dealership in person and had an annoying experience. The employees were acting like they were doing me a favor. I told them that I was trying to buy a 50k car they aren't doing me charity!

They saw that there were actually two orders - a 23 and a 22. Both were selects. When I spoke with the manager he said he didn't know about the tech/comfort package change and that he will look into the order tomorrow. Meanwhile ordering has opened up and I lost my spot.

The 2 orders is consistent with what my dealership found. They are trying to figure out why.
Also, I wouldn’t worry too much about your spot in line. It’s abundantly clear that when you place the order is not nearly as important as what vehicle you are buying and when the factory is scheduling those particular cars.

When I spoke to the manager of the dealership - I explained that the 2023 Select doesn't have the "tech package" as standard. I explained that there were many aspects of the tech and comfort package no longer available in the 2023 select. He told me that price protection protects features as well as price but couldn't go into what the resolution was.

It seems like more and more dealerships have no idea what is going on. I would love it if what he told you about price protection also protects the features, but that seems like a load of BS.

No doubt you've seen this video before (may have been linked in this or another thread), but for those that haven't here is some information that seems to be legit: Changes to the 2023 FORD MUSTANG MACH-E
